A while ago one of my friends said he'd take me out to coffee. A little after my birthday I took him up for it! I suggested Hooters. Not exactly coffee, but he likes boobs? Instead he took me to this diner in Burbank. Ugh the name already escapes me. Started with a C... I think. I'm so useless ANYWAY they had everything in the world to choose from. It was amazing. Took me like 20 minutes to decide.

I read through the rulebook and turns out it's more of a strategy than the Drizz't game I have. Which is great because I actually like RTS (when I don't suck at it).

 If I understand it correctly, you send in your units to kill shit for you, kinda like an RTS. Kind of. It's a two person game, but I've yet to convince Rot to sit and play with me. I'm so lonely. If I can't have someone who wants to play this shit with me, THEN WHAT CAN A GAL REALLY HAVE IN LIFE? Grapes? Not enough.

To be fair, he's been trying to get me to make a character for a campaign he wants to start, but I'm too busy playing video games to read. That's the problem. He wants me to read the entire handbook which is huge, but I AIN'T GOT TIME. My necromancer needs me. So.

Later that evening, I went to this Ramen place that I had no idea existed 5 minutes away with my friend who used to work at my store. BEST RAMEN EVER. I like it more than LT ramen, actually. But that's not to say LT ramen is bad. They definitely taste different.

SO GURD.

I also went to Das Bunker I think the week before? Or the following night? I don't remember. It all is just a big blur of socialness. My brain doesn't know how to organize overwhelming outside things.

There's sort of this rule that I have when going out. Don't.
It's pretty much because the likelihood of drama happening is about 80%.
I had lucky rolls that last two occurrences that I did venture out. But then again, I made my visits brief. Get in, support friend, go home. Of course this time it couldn't go smoothly.
This time around, another over-zealous ho-bag decided to swoop in and dump her L.A. lifestyle all over my introverted good time
I'd just like to point out that being wasted on an RV, naked, with 3 other people, one of which she gave oral sex to, constitutes not as what this girl has been glorifying ;)
She forgot to mention that massive detail to me. I'm assuming it also slipped her mind with everyone else?

I went home annoyed with another night at a goth club. Honestly, that scene is so full of shit that you'd think there'd be some reality tv show crew at every corner just passing out scripts to people left and right. Nope. This shit is for real. It's incredible! In retrospect it's funny, but when you're living it, it's fucked up. lol
I don't hesitate to burn my bridges here, let me tell you.

I promised him I'd join his guild, and he's been showing me how a lot of the stuff in GW2 works.
Everything I ever knew about MMOs is for naught. They changed things. Well, not really, but took traditions and made them their own. It's ... weird. I'm still easing my way through.

This entry has been dragged out through several days, and I'm not even sure when I started writing it. I keep getting distracted with GW2. 

Today is Saturday, it's the day of the Psyclon Nine show in Mexico City. I wish them the best of luck... BECAUSE ROT HAS MY SUIT CASE AND HE TOOK MY RED AND BLACK ACRYLIC PAINTS I USE TO MAKE CUTE FACES ON MY CHARMS :(

I dunno if I wanna go to the LA one. I feel like I should because I have to talk to the promoter about stuff. And this is their first show together after a while, I know Rot wants me to go. but at the same time I'd end up going by myself. I don't think any of my friends would wanna come with me. They pretty much all hate Marshall, lol. 

I feel like I have to go, though. blegh.

Elena and I went out to eat the other night. It was so good to see her again. I would've taken a picture, but it was night time and we were kinda in jammies mode. DENNY'S. Two Denny's trips in one day. Go me! Their coffee is probably the best coffee in all the land. Except for 7-11's blueberry coffee. mmmpf!

I might do something with her tonight.

I dunno.

And tomorrow I'd like to do something with my friend Kyrie. Her birthday was on the 12th, and she had a thing the weekend before, but I couldn't make it. Stupidest shit ever prevented me. But I'd like to take her somewhere nice to eat. Thing is, she's vegan, and I'm clueless. She's not like me where you just stick a plate of food in front of me and I become a human vacuum. And vegan restaurants are at least 4 dollar signs on Yelp. I wanted to take her to Little Tokyo but I'm not sure how vegan friendly the restaurants they have are. We'll seeeee

I'd ask either one of them to come with me to the Psyclon Show, but... Elena hates Marshall, and Kyrie is a package deal with Ponies, and he hates going out just as much as I do. They wouldn't stay long, and then I'd feel bad for dragging them out considering they live an hour away. 

Cynthia is thinking ahead too much.

Whatever. New graphics card may have to wait. I might buy a plane ticket to visit friends in the east coast instead. Maybe. We'll see how things turn out.

25 to life

      Thus is the end of the first quarter of my life. That's so weird to me. I can't even believe that I'm already 25 what in the actual fuck. I DON'T WANNA

My actual birthday was yesterday, but I did stuff for it today.
Today was supposed to be a kinda nothing day other than computer things. I realized I had to get gas for my car and go to the bank, also pick up groceries all beforehand... but then DnD said rain check. I'm thinking Sunday since I work tomorrow night. Honestly, I'm glad we didn't go. I don't like doing a bunch of stuff all in one day. THAT'S NOT REALLY A DAY OFF NOW, IS IT?
Funny story --
 As I walked back to the car from the ATM, I opened my bag and came to find that my keys were not there, but inside my car. In the cup holder. Out of my reach because I literally can't reach through a glass window. Like that's impossible. I can't.
So naturally, I tried to MacGyver it for 45 minutes. I have... had.. this box cutter in my bag that I de-bladed and tried to wedge into the lock. Literally attached a safety pin into the wedge of the box cutter to secure it for leverage and tried that. Would've been awesome if it had worked. MACGYVER DAT SHIT.  Eventually I was able to break in. Lisa came to my rescue.
I felt mortified. I was sitting under a tree, by the bank atm, next to a 1996 Saturn with a ton of passing traffic and people. ugh.

SHE'S MY HERO! We went out afterward instead of me doing responsible things. She also surprised me with giftsies lol. She got me one of the things I was looking at on Ebay forever, but just never prioritized over other stuff. I dunno how she knew. And and and this cute little toy. omghad.
We went for lunch at this sushi restaurant in Burbank called Octopus. because I mean fucking why not? They had a happy hour sale going on that made everything incredibly cheap. It was great and incredibly delicious. They had cilantro sauce! CILANTRO SAUCE. mmmpf

Also, we went to Bath & Body Works at the galleria and saw the Halloween stuff they had. Of course... I never go in there without leaving with something. The fall candles made me melt. They smell so good! I'm running out of places to put them in my room! I still bought three. ^_^

Tonight, we shall grace Das Bunker. It's time for Cynth to get all fab and club gothy again. =\
It's cool though. As long as Lisa doesn't leave my side I won't go into a nervous fit. Jk... goth clubs aren't so bad. Everyone there is awkward and weird for the most part. Makes me less nervous. Sort of.

He got me this book. Said it was similar to Coraline ~ Not the movie. The book. 

It's a graphic novel, and of course the illustrations are just as creepy as Clive himself. 

His 2nd gift to me was the soundtrack to my all time favorite game, Warcraft 3. 

I almost cried. I can't stand how thoughtful this was. The songs bring back so many memories!

And finally, this silver necklace with the original Zelda game cartridge. The necklace is fragile, so I can't wear it casually like I do my others, but it's so pretty. Sigh :B

He went too far!! He gave me this big box wrapped in sparkly black wrapping paper lmao. This picture doesn't do it justice but I wanted to just leave it like that. It was soooo pretty! Opening this box was done with great, great care. I plan on covering a portion of my wall in this... you see, he gave me what was left of the roll.

This candleholder was what I ALMOST got on our last visit to Michael's but decided not to. The real reason I wanted it was because it's purple and spider-y. Specifically because it reminds me of the Underdark from Forgotten Realms. It's where the Drow live. They worship Lolth, the spider queen and their city is basically lit by luminiscent glowy hazy purple-y magic and glow-in-the-dark mushrooms. THEY LIKE PURPLE AND THEY LIKE SPIDERS. SO.

There's been a thing going on with Guild Wars 2. Phishing emails have been sent out

They look legit. I've gotten 5 in the last couple of days. They're all requests to reset my account password. Over. and over. and over again. Why? I'm thinking keylogger links have been attached but... here's the problem...

There's nothing sketchy about the links whatsoever. I've searched. The info from the sender says it's from the site. I've even copy + pasted the sender's address to make sure the 'L' wasn't just a capital 'i' posing as an L. Or that it was a mirror site posing as the original that keylogs your log-in info. The link and the source match up at the bottom. Nothin. I have no idea. They're getting better at this.

However, I'm still smart enough to know not to fall for shit like this. Unfortunately, that's not the case with everyone. There are tons of accounts that have been hacked due to these emails. Boo. How the emails were even acquired is still under investigation.

Sucks. I feel bad for those that already got hacked. The game literally JUST launched. That's ridiculous... Those gold farmers don't fuck around.

Friday I'm going to Fry's again. Embarrassed? A little. 3 trips in one week is unsettling to me. Hot. but unsettling. The eve of the end of the first quarter of my life is nigh. WEIRD.
Deep down I kinda wanna do something fun, but at the same time I don't because that means I'll have expectations.
I try to not have expectations.
Either that's really narcissistic or just another defect in my psyche. Probably the same thing.

My friend's book release party is this Saturday but the new manager scheduled me to close?
I haven't worked that shift in months. I'm doubting that anyone is gonna wanna switch with me. I feel bad because I said I'd go. I just didn't think I'd randomly get scheduled to work at night. We'll see what happens. Again... no expectations. 

Things!

   There are two things  in life that make Cynth bear an annoying squeak inducing grin.
*Computer things and *Azn shit, including food. And new games. That's 3 but technically that can be classified within the umbrella of computer things.

ALL OF THESE in the last few days, almost consistently, are like the foreplay to my birthday- which I'm anticipating on doing absolutely nothing for! :D
It's almost as if I haven't had a day off (to my standards) in several weeks. This is because to me a 'day off' is literally not leaving my house, and possibly my room, for the entire day. Or communicating with anyone. Just me and my misery, and my computer. And Netflix.
I'm not complaining though. Simply looking forward to sleeping in and doing nothing, at least for one of those days that I requested off. Ha ^-^

Thursday -  Omghad, k so in order to get a better graphics card, it's just best to get a better power supply and some more RAM. Just to be safe. I wanted to see my options. I'm kinda on a budget, but kinda not at the same time. So since I sold my old comp to DnD guy, we agreed to take a trip to Fry's Electronics and pick up a bunch of stuff for his comp, and for mine as well. After work I went home and brought the computer over. He had already bought a desk and had yet to put it together, plus setting everything up once we got all his shit. WEE! (I love doing that stuff. It's so fun!)
So off we went. We roamed around aimlessly for a while and eventually decided on some stuff. He got a wireless router (mistake) and a 14ft cable, a power strip, some douchebag looking speakers that he got specifically just because I said they look like douchebag speakers, and some other shit I don't remember. I got 4Gs of RAM (mistake) and canned air for computer bath time. I checked out some of the graphics cards they had and found the one I wanted. Waaaahh. Rot suggested I get the Rosewell power supply off Newegg. I wanted to see what Fry's had and it all looked yucky. So I'm probably gonna just go with that one and wait to get the card later. Aww, I love Fry's. It's like walking around in a Toys R Us.
After wandering around forever from not knowing if we were done yet, we went to Chipotle and stuffed our faces. One does not just go to Chipotle and not stuff one's face. I've tried. A challenge I will never accept.

14 ft cable lololol

We returned to his place. He started putting the desk together and I set up the computer. Problem!
The computer wasn't detecting a connection at all. There wasn't even an icon at the bottom that would pop up.
We way later discovered the reason for this, but it took us basically all afternoon/evening to figure it out. It was dramatic. He was calling his friends, I was calling my roommate. Websites were browsed, I googled the fuck out of this, restarting shit constantly- nothing. No detection. No where. Didn't even feel the damn cable in it's ass.
Basically, drivers weren't installed. Before that we pretty much assumed everything else that could possibly happen and just kept failing at making it work. Hours and hours of failing. Also, once we figured it out, we decided it was a better idea to just have a long, ugly, network cable connecting from the living room router to his room instead of just relying on the wireless one he bought earlier. Fry's was closing in an hour so we just hauled ass back there and exchanged stuff for a 50ft. I had to drop him off. We didn't even have time to assemble his desk, I felt bad. But all in all it was a fun day. This is the type of shit I dive into head first with a huge smile on my face. It was like an episode on some TV show that doesn't exist. There was action (my defensive driving), drama (the missing drivers) the excitement (opening the BIOS to see if the LAN option was enabled), romance (what game to buy), and just everything ever. but like... with computer stuff. 


Friday - Team Cool does Little T! As per usual ;) This trip we thought that we would have some other people joining us, but as it were things didn't turn out that way. No biggie! I went to pick up Devon and we headed off to the metro station. We talked about WoW for a long time as I circled the lot trying to find parking. It was almost like reminiscing. It was nice talking about WoW again to someone other than Rotny in person. No luck with parking, so we went to the other metro station and circled there for about half an hour. Still nothing. It was eventually decided that we should just drive down there instead. Inside I was screaming, but I couldn't let Devon down. We're Team Cool. We do Little T on Fridays. I'LL GET THROUGH THIS BECAUSE WE TALKED ABOUT WOW AND IT WAS MEANINGFUL DAMNIT.

So I drove us there. Heart racing and more scared than a wet cat but I did it. I held in my nervous gasping squeaks just for her. I'm proud of myself. 

Eventually, we found a little public parking lot smack dab in the middle of everything. 6 dorrar!  

We nommed on Ramen ^-^ They have new menus! It seemingly made the whole place look brighter and more uplifting... but it was probably just our excitement over the fancy new menu layout.  

We then went to the grocery and got a bunch of nommy snackies. Ramunè is a must on every trip. I tried orange and plum this time. Orange was my favorite! They're so cheap, they're like a dollar and some change. Less than a cup of black coffee at Starbucks. :3

 We had boba drinks this time! I've been wanting to try what they have at this shop next to our Ramen place and we finally did! YUMMYYY :DD

 

 She got the Thai iced tea and I got the mango slushie thing. I could drink that stuff forever. The bobaaaa I wub iiittt so fun and nommy!

We also went to this bakery that she really likes. We were so full from the Ramen and boba that we settled on one thing this time. Chocolate mousse. Now, I'm not the biggest fan of chocolate anything (defect, I think) but this shit was unreal. It's not even fair how good it was. Like wtf. HOW

I don't even know. It was... really good, basically.

 Next time, we're trying the green tea mousse :3

We returned to the Sanrio shop that sold the Tokidoki unicorn mystery boxes but they didn't have them anymore! So we were on a mission to find them elsewhere, but had no luck :( So we got other mystery box things instead. She got this samuri kitty thing and I got this pink haired anime dude on a macaroon! Haha. We had to settle, but I guess... who doesn't? /shrug

Sunday -  I worked and came home to eat, shower and sleep. But I get a text from DnD that there still something wrong with the computer and he thought it was either the RAM or the video card. He mentioned it the night before but said he'd try and fuck with it and see what it was. Oops I guess? So I went over there and he said it was making loud beeping noises earlier. Scared the shit out of me. Turns out the RAM wasn't in all the way. -_- He had taken them out and tried to do stuff with no luck because one of the sticks aren't being read for whatever reason. We couldn't figure that out either. I snapped them back in (little hands make for easier application!) but not before trying out the two other sticks I brought over just to see, but they didn't fit. Put the other original two back it and started it up. Yay! But one of the modules weren't being detected :( I'm not sure what to do at this point. It could be the computer (doubtful because it detected it before I wiped it) or it could be the module itself. I don't knooooww. He was excited to set up a bunch of stuff though. He even set up a twitter account! Haha.. he suggested I get LoTRO... eeeeeeeehhhhhh. Maybe. Rot's been wanting me to try it for months but eeeehhh... I dunno. I really want him to try LoL. I guess I'll try it if he tries LoL.

Also, I had extra copies of some games, so those were his. At some point I wanna test his skills at WC3. Test my skills, too! Oi. I will never understand why Rotny doesn't like WC3. It's nonsense to me. I cant

After payday, I think we're gonna make another trip to Fry's and maybe see if they have the same module builds that would go with his board. That and I wanna get an external harddrive. Other than that, we watched Battle Royale sort of because he's never seen it before. And then I split. Ate, made a new toon in GW2 and went to bed because I worked at 4am the next day. Phew!

Today I was sent home early from work. This gives me some quality me time ^-^
