This post will have absolutely nothing to do with beer. I simply can't think of a title, and Rot is sitting here being silly and talking about beer and growling like an angry cat.
I made the mistake of napping later in the evening today. I'd like to go to sleep so I can just wake up and get tomorrow started and over with. That sounds more negative than I intended, but I guess that's just my nervousness kicking in.. - tomorrow being the shoot. I'm sure it'll be fine and I'll have a good time, it's just the events leading up to it and the thought of it makes it feel like a chore, but once I'm there it's fine. Did I just describe laziness? I think I just described laziness.

I'm anxious for the things I ordered to arrive in the mail. I got this new comforter set that I'm stoked over... it's going to look so cute and make our room pop.

This month feels busy to me, even though it really isn't. This week is the shoot, next week I fly to San Francisco, and then the week after that is Wondercon. Then the first week of April I'll be at another shoot for a music video.
I'm wondering how many charms I should make for Bat's Day... and I also wanna make my own little pieces for our DnD game. Speaking of which... plans continue to fall through. This entry was kinda bleh. I should get to bed. poo
Java has unleashed a virus in one of their updates. I was unaware, but it has been about 2 weeks since and many users have been affected. Anyone with Avast... I suggest you run a boot scan on your system and neutralize that shit post haste. If you don't have Avast... I don't know what to tell you. Maybe don't not have Avast? But it's been giving Rot problems lately, so he uninstalled it. However my comp runs just fine, and so does Josh's. Who knows? So I am writing from my adorable little saving grace. I was a saving grace last night to one of my candles. It was awful.
Sometimes I'll burn my candles on an uneven surface and forget how much of a bad idea it is. Not just aesthetically but apparently functionality! The wax completely melt-flooded the wick and dried over it. I had to go in and rescue it with a stove lighter thing before it made my room any uglier.
It was so out of whack that the wick I rescued was burned away, and once I lit the remaining wick, the wax would instantly melt and put the pathetic little flame out.
So I had to carve a bunch of wax out :(
But it works now! And I have this smelly ball of red wax on my desk to play with. I'm not sure what to do with it yet.

This Frappuccino is a piece for my boss! I tried to print out a tiny logo, but I couldn't find one small enough without the Starbucks print around the mermaid... which I have to cut out due to copyright reasons. I wonder if they'd do something if they saw it say Starbucks on it O_o.

Yesterday I ran a bunch of errands. One of which was going to Michaels for supplies. Since Bat's Day is a go I decided that I'm going to need a lot of black clay. So I got this bad boy.
I normally get the 2 ounce blocks. I have another spare 2 oz block in addition to the scrap that I'm currently using, so I'm pretty confident this'll get me lots of cute little merchies to sell.
Oh! In a few weeks I'll be in San Francisco visiting one of my bestestestest friends! Jurdaaaan. He just moved to SF from Philly. We dated in high school but remained bffs. He's like a girlfriend, but more rational. It's kind of unbelievable that he lives there now. SF is always a good time. He said we can go shopping at H&M :D Woot!!
Business things wee. I'm sitting here at my desk playing WoW and watching Cadet Kelly as an act of contrition for not going to Little Tokyo today. It's not that bad actually because I made us dinner, and it's awesome, and I actually like this movie. It's fun. The character she plays makes me aspire to be more jubilant in general. So I guess it's not contrition unless you view me in a negative light over watching Cadet Kelly? BUT I DON'T SEE WHY ANYONE WOULD, REALLY. IT'S A GREAT FLICK.
Not to mention Shawn Ashmore is in it. Every time he comes to my work I wanna salute to him. But I think he'd ever wanna come back :(
This morning I got out of work early and talked with Ponies over some Bats Day related things.
He's tried to convince me in the past to accompany and help run the InkBleed Books booth at the Bats Day Black Market. I've never really been into those kinds of events really. Especially with such an aesthetically dependent event. I'm even antisocial within the stereotypically but ironically not really antisocial ... antisocial "freaks". Is that weird? If I were a superhero, I'd be Defectiva. Doing everything wrong, socially.

Also.. I'm an idiot. The shoot isn't tomorrow, it's next Thursday. And it's not a photoshoot. It's for a promo video. I knew that, but from looking at the other model they used.. I assumed. Like an ass.

The cutest net book ever is mine! Okay, probably not ever, but still pretty cute. I got an Acer Aspire one in burgundy and and and omg it matches my pillows and chair, and my other bed sheets. Most of yesterday, once it got here, consisted of reconfiguring and getting everything updated, bookmarked, uninstalling stupid factory shit, and deciding what exactly this little guy will be for. Which I basically wanted for writing and business/Etsy stuff. I'm not installing any games or much media on here other than photoshop.

In the middle of that I made dinner and once again impressed the shit out of my taste buds. I also finished another commission that I'm butthurt over not being able to keep for myself.

Oh oh oh oh lookit! The commission I did is a Hylian sword from The Legend of Zelda games. It came out so badass. The little details sucked to do, but it came out really great.

Thursday after work I have a photoshoot. It's in a cemetery. No laughing. It's not just a whatever thing. It's for also for a video and to help promote artists in the goth community. AND what I'll be modeling is SO CUTE. I felt like I wasn't Goth enough initially. I don't think I'm really all that Gothy period. The designer asked me if I had any colorful corsets, all like.. casual and stuff. And I thought "dayum... I suck. I SHOULD have at least one. Worst Goth ever" but I told her that 95% of my wardrobe is black. And felt bad. IF THAT'S NOT IRONIC.. then idk. I thought about that and then smiled because I felt like an idiot.

I don't know why I see Facebook as more personal than my blog, because this is where many of my emotions are manifested in a safe, neutral form that others can find entertainment in. But like... you can see EVERYTHING someone does on Facebook. To me that comes off as incredibly invasive, even with the mild privacy settings they offer. No thank you. It also gives people a false sense of association, and who wants to be that?! Unless you're a brainless idiot.
ANYWHO, That's my facebook rant. And now I'm going to take a nap. Getting a smog check for some reason made me tired. Or maybe it's the crash from the coffee I had earlier. I could eat some grapes. mmmm grapes.

I have these candles everywhere and I never know what to do with the lids.
They're bulky and stupid and wtf do you do with them while you're using the candle? NOTHING. They're glass and heavy, you can't just dump them. So.. with enough boredom, I thought of something other than burning little candles in them.
I. - Take your lid. Just take it. Grab it and put down somewhere. Do it.
II.- Get some paint. Since most of the lid is transparent, use a color that matches your surface. I went with black because I'm not racist.
III. - Paint that ugly plastic part. You can try painting the glass. I wish you all the best. What I did was just messily dab the base with 3 coats, making sure each coat dried completely or suffer the ugly consequences. Acrylic I found that 3 coats should suffice. If it doesn't, why'd you stop then?
IV. - Grats. You now have these wonky little dishes to put tiny cluttery things in. If you're a messy painter like I am, it doesn't matter! It's the same color as your surface. I am using mine for craft findings and jewelry I wear on a regular basis so that I don't have to dig through this ugly tin can with a bunch of random crap in it.

Anywho, work sucked but I went grocery shopping on my way home and that always brings me lots and lots of joy. This time I also purchased strawberries to couple with sweetened condensed milk. If you've never had sweetened condensed milk, it's milk... but the consistency is similar to honey, and it's sweet. It says it on the label. It's delicious. I think it's used in a lot of fancy desserts. But I just dump it on strawberries. My mom would give me this as a treat. Try it! It's delish ^_^

Rot noticed a large spider by the steps on our way to our front door. In excitement we both bent down to take a look... when we noticed a red tummy.
It was difficult to keep my hands steady as I captured this little girl but man o man was she neat. We wanted to move her somewhere safe, but she was a little too dangerous even for us. Initially we thought she was a Black Widow. Turns out she's a Brown Widow, which apparently are quite common in southern California. Isn't she so pretty though? She looks like a dangerous predator, but her sleek shape and color also makes her look regal. She's beautiful. I hope no one freaks out and kills her :( She's just trying to survive, and will die off on her own eventually.
In my opinion, killing something simply over the fact that you cannot control your own issue with it is just so incredibly deranged and cruel. And unnecessary. If you're one of those people... next time you see a spider, can you not? It's not out to hurt you. Leave it alone. It just wants to hang out on it's web and eat insects that probably pester you more than that spider did before you realized it was even there. BOOM. Logic.
I haven't felt like writing very much lately. But there's a lot to write about - that may have something to do with it. We'll start with what I got in the mail today.

These are for our DnD game that a few of my coworkers and I are starting. I think maybe 2 weeks ago we all got together and DnD guy went over everything with us. Some of us are completely new to game mechanics and roles in general, and I wanted to get a better understanding of things. It was fun (for me) and I think he did really well in explaining almost everything. It almost felt like a class lecture. Not gonna lie, it was kinda hot.
I used to have a crush on a friend from high school who I didn't even know I liked until he lectured me one night on physics, religion, psychology, his philosophies and space shit. He just kept going for hours, and we just sat in my basement all night. I just listened, and he lectured me. Totally unforgettable. He was also quite eloquent. If he wasn't, I don't think I would be writing about him right now.

I had brought over my 4th edition manuals to have some sort of guideline. I think it helped quite a bit. You guise I'm eating so many grapes right now. Once we were done we just all kinda hanged out and talked about what classes/race we were gonna be. I sort of downloaded something on his computer.

Yep, I made another batch. I had to before the salmon went bad. But I wasn't going to be able to finish them all on my own, so I brought them to work for my co-workers. I took some pictures while I made them so you guise could see
Bust out dat rice. This batch I only made 2 cups. Spread it out on a flat surface. I use my rice spoon thing to 'cut' off portions of rice.

Nori is so good omg. First time I tried it it was surprising to me how flavorful nori is. I felt like a Pokemon eating these. The first time I ever saw one was in a Pokemon episode back in the day. They called them donuts on the show at the time XD

On Friday Rot and I went to Das Bunker for the Velvet Acid Christ show. We had a good time for sure. I think he was legitimately star struck for a bit. It's the first time I've seen him that giddy to meet someone.
Good show. They played mostly stuff from previous albums. The crowd really digged that it seemed like. We also ran into Krz, who plays for DOA. Later on in the night Elena showed up in that special way she does. Really late for everything, lol. It's always good to see her. SHE'S SO THILLY I LUB HUR.

I suggested we go to Octopus!! I swear by that place. Sushi lovers in The Valley... go to Octopus in Burbank. Go to it. You will be blown away. The kitties said they frequent a sushi place by where they live that they walk to and said was really good. However they were also impressed and a little taken by surprise by this place too.
