Hunter - but not Haunter :(

   Photo dump post
                                  Kind of.
Everything after AX has been kind of a blur up until recently. It's a good thing I have photos to look back on. I've barely been home lately. Not that I'm complaining!
And I've been hanging out a lot more with Ponies. We can be catty and snarky together about the world and just talk shit. It's so therapeutic. I'm hoping that one day we can just marathon Sex and the City and also watch Mean Girls. He's the only one I can be this way around, lol. Guess that's why he's my best friend. He doesn't have hair, but he's full of my secrets.

We've been going out to eat bunches. This place was a vegan joint in some super artsy/hipster area in Tustin I think it was? Called Bloom.

That churro waffle thing was insane. So good

He looks weebish but he's kinda Japanese so it's cool.

I forget what this little shopping area was called, but it was really...
Homeless Chic

And a few days later we went to this ramen place in Costa Mesa

And later, he was like, should we go to Helter tonight?
And I was like, kay.

So we went to Helter Skelter in our bummy day clothes.

I didn't take that many photos that night. We didn't end up staying very late because it was a meh night. I did, however, find out that I wasn't the only person there playing Pokemon Go!

Aaaaaaand I think the next evening or something like that, I went out to Downtown Fullerton to hunt Pokemon! Alone :P
Because... I'm a loser. I don't know.

I was wearing one of my favorite shirts, and this dude stopped me to compliment me on it. I realized then that he was also wearing a ghost Pokemon shirt. Sooooooooooo... had to get a selfie, lol

That was a fun evening. Ended up at the Hillcrest park with some peeps, and caught a lot of Pokemon. Was pretty cool.

And on my way home, just out of curiosity...

I stopped by the cemetery to see if I could spot any ghost types.
No luck =\
I did however see a group of PoGo'ers approach the gate and take the gym that was there. I quickly went to my car to hide and spam the pokestop that was right there. After all the walking around and interaction earlier that evening, I was socialized out. Had to re-charge. Was cool to see them there though. It was past 11pm, and when I originally go to the cemetery gates, I felt like a weirdo. That quickly went away, lol.

The NEXT day I decided to test my luck with Pokemon at Disneyland.

It was a Monday, and I figured that the park wouldn't be that crowded. Especially not around noon, with parents working and whatnot.

BOY WAS I WRONG.
And the sun was blaaaring. And it was hot. And oh man.
But I didn't want my trip to go to waste, so I walked my ass over to Haunted Mansion and waited in that horrible line... all in hopes of finding a ghost Pokemon, lol.
I'M TRYING SO HARD TO FIND ONE!

No luck!
The damn servers went down as I was going into the frickin building! And I had signal on the ride!!! It was so stressful, lol. I was sitting in that frickin buggy, alone, with my phone out, trying to start up the app and all that came up was that stupid error screen. I was pissed, lol.

I was walking around Disneyland for a good 3 hours. And basically ragequit after that. That was the only ride I went on, because the rest of the time I was just walking around trying to catch Pokemon, lol. But right before I left the park, I decided to check out California Adventure real quick

I had like 14% battery left on my phone and a Drowzee popped up on my Nearby thingie so I hauled ass deeper into the park.
I find it, go to catch it, and the app froze. I'm pissed.
But then suddenly an Onix appears, so I'm a little less pissed. And I catch it instead with like 2% battery. And then leave.

Disneyland has felt happier, lol. #FIRSTWORLDPROBLEMS #HASHTAG

And then that same day, in the evening, I went to Burbank to say hi to people and hunt more Pokemon, lol.

*Ahem* lol
The first place I went to, of course, was my old work. Cay was there, and was off early, so she and I went to Downtown Burbank... but particularly somewhere special in hopes of seeing some familiar faces.

HEE ^_^
They were on calls, so I couldn't really meet up w/ them. But one of their patrol cars drove by us and Cay recognized the driver.
She shouted his name and he waved at us.
The text messages ensued.
His partner was probably very confused.

Downtown Burbank was crazy, despite it being a Monday night. Or maybe it was Tuesday? I don't remember. Either way, we caught lots of Pokemons.
But I had to leave because Oppa was waiting for me in Downtown LA, lol.

We met up in Little Tokyo and off we went
 ...to eat :3

I'M TELLING YOU
I'M JUST A LITTLE DORA THE EXPLORER THESE DAYS

I forget what this place is called, but he said it was open til like 3am. And they had ramen.
Bingo!

This sign is a liar. There are no fries

He showed off his leet origami skills.
See? That's a rock.

and freshly shed snake skin
amazing

His moobs are bigger than my itty bitties lolol

And apparently he had come up with gang signs for the Pokemon Go teams....

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... lol........... sigh......

i laugh like an idiot around him. IT'S A WEAKNESS.

true facts

We were in LT suuuper late. But it was a lot of fun, and really nice.
I caught a Jigglypuff right in front of Mr. Ramen ^_^

I miss him.
Don't worry this isn't the end, lol. There's PLEEENNTY more

I'm not even going to lie, I got a new phone and switched plans because of Pokemon Go, lol.
If you've been following me on le Instagram, maybe you did, or maybe you didn't, notice the difference in quality in photos? They're clearler and more crisp... because I got an S7 lol.
Good news is no more shitty quality photos. Bad news is... it took Pokemon Go to push me to finally get a new phone. And stretched my bank account out a little more than it should've been but YANNO.
YOLO

Sorry.

Pokemon Go has added all kinds of awesome to Cynthia's life recently. Can't complain. Despite money issues (there's always gonna be money issues-- whatever. I'm over it)  I've been enriched by this little app ^_^

These are the last photos I took on my S4 (yeah, shut up.) Aaaaand, I already have over 400 photos to sort through to post... so YAY! lol. Looking forward to that.
If I had been keeping up with my posts and photos, I would've been able to tell you guys about what I ended up doing yesterday. It was probably the raunchiest thing I've ever experienced. But it'll have to wait, lol. I didn't take pictures anyway. Wasn't something I wanted to look back on to be honest. We'll get there.

ANYWAY. I HAVE WORK AT 4 AM.

If you dunno... I am an infinity times more active on Instagram than any other social platform: @cynthx
i take too many photos of stuff and have to diarrhea them out somewhere. snapchat makes me anxious because the photos expire and are gone forever and then i can't look back on them and omg

so yeah. that.

okies 잘자!

Pokémons

The world is out of control right now.
It almost feels like... someone showed up to the Battle Royale island with a massive balloon full of confetti and popped it.
Clearly, I haven't through through that analogy far enough to what happens after the balloon pops, but for the moment... lol, that's kinda what it's like right now. And I don't hate it.

So, after AX, Ponies was like, lets get food. And I was like, okay.
Setting :  Macaroni Grill

Like a squirrely child that ate too much candy, I immediately grabbed a crayon and started drawing what was on my mind:

Shut up. Don't judge me.

Our waitress walks by and she's like IS THAT SNORLAX?
And I was like yes!! And I thought she was the coolest waitress ever, as she grated the parmesan over my entree.

His shirt is so ironic because he comes off as such an intimidating person.
His shirt really speaks for him. I envy his ability to have such an open heart the way he does- when he loves something he is really passionate about it, and loyal and protective of it. He loves a lot.
See, I can't do that. Love pisses me off, lol

FUCKING SCORPIOS, MAN

He's actually more like Charlotte than Miranda. I think I'm Miranda. #SexandtheCity #hashtag
I hate him. jk I love him. He keeps me grounded. Ugh.

I need to remember to buy balsamic vinegar and olive oil and just a shit ton of bread
also, I made our table....
THE VEEEHRY BEST.
LIKE NO ONE EVER WUUUUHHZZ
(oh just wait. this is only the beginning)

 Omg look at my bangs.
I'd been trying to grow them out again this summer.
I think I mentioned this before-- this happens every summer. Idk why.
Yeah. Didn't last long.

OKAY SO, LIKE
lets not even pretend like we don't know what's coming, ok?

because it's EVERYWHERE, and my headmeat word toilet that is my blog is no exception

So, Pokémon Go launched on.... like a week ago or something.
And I remember thinking... omg. I can finally catch GHOST POKEMON. Like REAL ONES.
I CAN HAVE GHOST POKEMON right?
And... in my logical mind (yeah) I'm thinking; okay... this is brilliant.. because.. in the real world... haunted areas... supposedly have ghosts, right? Right.
So like, what if... haunted areas... ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME?
WHAT IF THOSE AREAS HAVE GHOST POKEMONS

-DRIVES 34 MILES NORTH TO FACT CHECK DELUSIONAL CANON THEORY-

Remember Oppa?
He joined me. It was only like, almost midnight. This is totally normal and 100% fine.

Location: Colorado Street Bridge | A.K.A. "The Suicide Bridge"
        - Supposedly haunted by a dude and some sad mom lady

Ideally, our hunt would've looked something like this:

We got there so pumped and ready to catch some dead Pokémon
Or maybe just cool ones?
By this time, I think the app had been out like 2 days?

Oppa is a great contributor to my craptacular shots. Note the subtle accent of his 2nd distal phalange probably pointing at something that probably is there, but isn't.

 We found basically nothing, lol.
But any night visit to the Suicide Bridge is always a treat for me. It's so beautiful, and quiet.

There was a Rhydon here. I forgot to screencap it but we caught it.

 80's walking away shot

 uh.....
yes.

 We walked around forever.

There's a little staircase at the ends of the bridge that lead to the neighboring roads going up into the insanely nice houses/mansion looking things.
So naturally, we walked around the neighborhood, not at all looking creepy outside of peoples' houses, and caught some Pokemon.
There was this mansion that had a huge gate, but there was a Growlithe there.
Obviously, we have to get it.
As soon as we got close to it the dogs started barking and came out. It made sense, I mean maybe they have more Growlithes inside and this one got out?
We caught it and made our way back, lol.

My theory was crushed by the very real reality that someone on the development team wasn't as brilliant or as thoughtful as I, and did not port the correct spawning of the correct Pokemon at the right locations. BUT THAT'S FINE.

Oppa then was like, "wanna go to a haunted forest?"

See, this is how people die.
He knew I wouldn't say no. Or maybe he didn't, and just yolo'd it, but I didn't say no.
Who would say no? At 2 something in the morning? SURE WHY NOT. HOW COULD YOU NOT

I thought he was kidding. Or being hyperbolic.
The whole time we were there, I didn't think he was serious.

We got there, and I was all excited to go on this hike thing into a forest somewhere and catch Pokemon, totally and utterly clueless that this place was legitly said to be haunted.

It was a pretty creepy hike, not gonna lie. It was pitch black, and after a little while, Oppa told me to just turn my light off so our eyes would adjust.
Did that. They did. Was cool. I felt like a kitty.

I wanted to take photos, but flash is obnoxious, so I avoided it.
But man. It was cool, but at the same time it felt weird lol, like someone was following us or watching us the whole time. Mind you, I didn't know this place was supposedly haunted at the time. So we kept making jokes about the person who kept shining the light far off in the distance, and how he could see us, and is probably like, watching us, or whatever. Totally innocent, stupid, mocking.
It obviously was a person, but it was just weird to see a single, bluish white light so far off into the forest out of nowhere, at 3AM.
Anyway, we walked up the trail for what seemed like forever.
There were forks, and I hoped so so so so much that Oppa knew where he was going, lol.
But we made it to the top of the trail, or at least a resting area, where it looks like a water tank thingie is, or used to be. How? No idea.

Creepy shit.
ALSO. No Pokemon!
Because we had no signal, lololol

But we kept going

We walked around the fenced area over to the ledge where there was a view of L.A.
I love views.

So I took a photo, and Oppa took a seat closer to the edge.

I went in a little closer and hit the flash, when something whisped around in my face. I don't even know if that's a word, but it was whispy. Super quick.

But I brushed it off, thinking it was some stupid bug. Nothing there. Whatever.
So I took another snapshot.

wtf.
There wasn't anything there.

I took another snapshot.

These are like 3-4 seconds apart. Not consistently one after the other, because I'd look down at my screen and check the shot, then open the camera again and aim.

 Last one:

It looked clear on my phone at the time, so I stopped taking photos at the point.
But... that whispy shit is still there.

No clue what it could've been.
Honestly I feel a weeeeeeeeensy teeny tiny bit uncomfortable even showing these photos, but it's kind of .. interesting? I guess?

I didn't take any shots after that.
We sat there for a while and took in the view. But during that time, it felt like someone was watching us, lol. So weird. I can't explain what that feels like, but just like... idk, like when you know someone else is in a room w/ you, you can just feel their presence there, right?
Like, that thing that moms do when their kids try to slowly sneak up on them from behind, but they somehow know the kid is behind them? THAT

We made jokes about it.
Was fun.
And then around 3:30, as much as I didn't want to, I told him we should start heading down :(
Why?
Well, because I had work at 5:30, LOL
It took me almost an hour to drive up there, and it'd take a about 15 mins to walk back down maybe.
I was planning everything in my head so I'd have time to get home, change, and drive to work on time.

Walking back down was just as weird. I kept seeing weird shapes, and Oppa kept teasing and startling me. Like, there were some things I hadn't spotted before that looked like fucking cadavers just laying on the side of the trail. So WEIRD.
Again! I didn't take him seriously when he told me "haunted forest" I thought he was joking.
So the whole time I'm thinking like... this is fucking weird, lol. But I still enjoyed it, a lot.
We got back down the trail a little quicker than I anticipated, and just hung out in his car for a little bit again before I had to leave.

Easily one of the coolest nights I've had in a while.
ALL BECAUSE OF POKEMON, GUYS.
While we didn't catch many Pokemon that night, and I had work at 5:30 that morning (I wasn't late, btw) it was dope.

So, I guess... if you wanna look at it like this... if in fact that whispy thing was totally a ghost, at least I caught it? And while it's not a ghost type Pokemon, it's the latter, and that's like 50% of the kind of Pokemon I want. So, technically... I caught a real life Pokemon.

 RIGHT?
=\

When all else fails, make yourself a ghost type out of clay because you can't catch a real one T___T
and yes I know that's not the proper spelling but I'm spooky, and it suits him better!

ugh, what am I doing lol

yeah this isn't over. like not even a little bit
