SQUEE

Look what Fed Ex brought me todayyy!!

I couldn't be more excited! It's so cute, and it even matches my Lachesis!

I am very happy. It takes a little bit of getting used to typing on this keyboard, as my hands are small and the keys are wide set and rubbery, but SQUEEEE!!!!1

Dyesies

While I was doing laundry last week, I noticed how yucky faded some of my stuff was and remembered we have black clothing dye in the bathroom.
Rot bought it a long time ago for a stage costume project with one of my skirts. -__-

We had plenty of it left so I got to dyin! Proved to be kind of fun.

Some of the tools I needed for this. Very essential.

Also... armor your floor like you're gonna die tomorrow if you don't. That soup is vicious.

Kinda reminds me of squid ink. :3 HEE!

Some stuff came out okay. Some were more resilient. This white lace tank top I got as an undershirt for this other place I worked at came out more purple than black. And the striped top is now grey and black. This yellow top I attempted to salvage wasn't having it. Trashed, sadly. But the brown tights I got came out awesome. They are now covered in cat hair from my recent trip to Amish country. Sort of. Which I will write about later.

The commission pieces a co-worker ordered. I've never seen the show Adventure time. I may just have to Netflix it.

"Like" me!

I saw a post by The Oatmeal regarding this very topic that Rot and I disdain the most about Facebook

I understand that this is the age of technology and (for some reason) having a high number of "likes" is validating to the human psyche and ego. I'll never know why, but it is.

Yes, I know it's a means of getting the word out. If one person likes it, others will see it, check it out, rinse repeat. Whatever.

The only problem is... we kept getting messages from people who begged us to "Like" their pages, and it was pathetic. I'm not sure if it ever occurred to these people that perhaps if their content was something cool, they may get noticed, and even possibly be genuinely liked. I see things daily that I like all the time without anyone having to shove it down my throat or spam my inbox. This apparently radical notion of Free Will is under attack. Don't be afraid to completely ignore, if not mark spam, to that crap. Our future generations' values depend on it.

Btw, I know I suck.

Check out The Oatmeal because he's the shit.

Rise and Shine

When I work early (4AM), I compensate by taking a nap in the afternoon/evening so I can stay up later, like a sir. Today, I was delightfully awakened by an argument between my two roommates.
This was over the DONT FORGET TO TURN OFF THE LIGHT I wrote on the whiteboard in the kitchen as a reminder to not leave the light on before one of them leaves super early for work/gym. It gets left on often, and I turn it off before I leave for work on the mornings I work. However, I don't always work mornings. And if it's left on... no one's gonna turn it off, so it's left on for several hours needlessly before anyone wakes up.

They were arguing over that. I'm not sure how that turns into an argument or even why, because it's basic thinking. No one will be using it, so why leave it on for for the next 4 to 5 hours? You're leaving, so just.. turn it off? I heard dishes being thrown into the sink more aggressively than usual. I guess it's good we have some that are made from that strong plastic material stuff, because otherwise I'd have a problem with that.

Earlier today I fantasized about rolling a male Undead character in WoW and make him as hot as possible.
I might do just that.

Adventure time

Moving forward from earlier today's bs and my petty reaction to it...

I've discovered that cooking (for me) basically is just throwing everything that smells good into a pot and hope it makes a curry with meat to pour over rice. Or at least... that's what I grew up with and it ruled, and the boyfriend likes it, so I guess that's how it's gonna be.
Tonight I had chicken to work with. Not sure what to make with it, but I'll start with sauteing garlic and onions with salt, pepper, cumin, and more salt because I'm Peruvian. Threw in some stock. Wasn't sure if potatoes would be appropriate so I got two eggs and beat them together. Salted the shit out of that. Cut up and seasoned the chicken. and then just kinda decided to dip the chicken in the egg and toss it in there and hope for the best. more stock. more pepper. Goya seasonings. some lime juice. what else? leftover egg stuff. sure why not. put the lid on. done. I don't even know. I looked for an open beer bottle in our room hoping there was some left over (because my mom would do that for some dishes) but no luck. Ether way, it smells awesome.

And then I started the rice. Salt that too.

I can't have bland food. Can't do it. I think that's why I like worldly foods more than just a seasoned piece of steak with potatoes and green beans. I look at that shit and I'm like that's ADORABLE. Where's the rest?

Dat Spanish blood.

Earlier today, someone at work also paid me up front for 3 pieces. Woot! And they're gonna be super easy!

He wants 8-bit Link and these two guys from a show called Adventure Time.

Speaking of orders, I had to bring it up to one of the girls that it's been a while. Awkward. She reassured me. And today, the other girl. But she said I'd have it in my tips tomorrow np.  This has taught me to just ask for it up front from now on. I don't want to do that to people, because I'd just take their word and expect them to fulfill their obligation just by moral standard but I was Rotny'd, I was Rotny'd.
