Long Beach Comic Expo 2015

I keep having to pee. For cosplay.
I had to get this gallon of water so that I could use the plastic for a part of my costume. And I've been drinking water like fish. The peeing is real.

Speaking of cosplay, I totes just got back from Long Beach a few days ago for the Comic Expo, as the title suggests. This time around, Judy accompanied me on this adventure. We had a blast, and spent way too much money. But, you know... we had to. so.

First, it has to be known that this year's Long Beach Comic Expo was GREAT.
You don't understand.
Last year it was kind of a disaster and awful. It was like a day long, no one went. It was upstairs in the smaller room and was just TINY. TEENY, EENSY WEENSY. It was sad. This time around as I was relaying my weekend to Fett he was saying (in regards to him not being able to go) "if I had to miss a con, that's the one to miss."

eric is standing here, he just invited himself into my room. he's posing now, w/ a sword.
he's just kinda narrating himself
in this weird voice thingie
he's wearing a wolf pepelt.  "no. you've already... okay cool.. describe me. this is my glory. pretend the swords real though. "

"he looked down disapprovingly at his peers. he had no respect for anyone that wasn't a proven warrior." that's my fuckin dnd character. i have no respect for anyone that isn't a' proven warrior. that's my character's flaw. but i was ten years old. i went missing in an oklahoma camping site for 3 days. little do they know but oklahoma's home to a ravenous pack of wolves.

i just write books bro

lol i can't type anymore he's os drunk right now
he's posing
and he's talking about a book that he didn't write
"the eric chronicles" the first "non fiction autobiography.. his chiseled jaw showed his genetics of the norse people... his deep piercing eyes encompass all the colours of the earth. when you look into his eyes you seem to be looking into nature itself. the power the runes at any command"

omg

"save that. that's the first draft. we can talk contractual agreements"

sigh.

There's a house party going on right now, lol. I'm pleased to say that everyone who sees my room completely digs it. That's cuz my room's fukcing AWESOME.

ANYWAY... back to LBCE.
So yeah... compared to last years expo, this year REALLY raised the bar. I was genuinely impressed at how much more they put into it this time. There was also an afterparty hosted by Club Cosplay.
We had a really good time.

 Leech woman, yours truly.
Accompanied by Wednesday Addams.

As we walked into the convention center, one of the first cosplays that stood out was this Tim Burton Catwoman... with kittens.
Instantly my favorite. She fucking NAILED IT. And the way she incorporated her daughters was brilliant. Everything about this cosplay was just awesome. She was a hit

Judy absolutely adores Wonder Woman. She admits to being picky w/ how she is portrayed, but she fell in love w/ this cosplay. This chick did an awesome job!

 They're so dreamy ^_^

Saw this Ruvik from Evil Within and flipped out, lol.

LOL. I asked Tina to touch the body XD

 yeeessssssss

 This was a fun moment.
Freddy and I exchanged glances from a small distance, gave each other the nod of acknowledging each others' horror cosplay, and immediately posed for photos.

We were walking around when I noticed there were two large blue forms outside w/ a crowd around them. So we went to investigate.

D-Piddy and his friend rise to the occasion, yet again lol

 Disney Vader!!

 Mark!!!
The artist I get my Lovecraftian scrolls from!
This time he set aside his newest scroll just for me. He said he knew I'd stop by and gave it to me as a gift. It was his own original creation and he had only printed a limited amount. He's awesome, and everyone should know about his work. It's incredible. Dude's extremely talented

His newest one is on the bottom left hand corner. It's so crazy looking and awesome

If you want to buy one of his scrolls, they're really inexpensive, and worth every cent. They also smell really really really awesome. Like an old book that survived a fire.

Here's his Etsy
Note, he does each one individually. They're all unique, which is what makes them even more awesome. Okay I'm done whoring now, lol. And no, he didn't ask me to do this, I just love his work that much.

Chinese, Japanese, dirty knees, look at these!
that's probably the only thing I remember from that damn movie.

 Ran into Freddy again!

Judy kind of loves that Airbender thingie

Judy said "hey look it's your boyfriend!"
=\  yeah... he kinda is.

 LOVE HER.

OKAY, SO.
We were walking around looking for more stuff to throw money at, and as I was just scanning around me, to my left I caught sight of a huge poster w/ a Gentleman on it that read CAMDEN TOY on it.
I stopped in my tracks and my jaw dropped. Judy was like wtf is wrong w/ you, and Camden spotted me from way over there and returned the "omg!" face back at me, waving.
He knew what was approaching.

I absolutely fan girl'd. Didn't hold anything back. Nope. And I'm not ashamed.
I FUCKING LOVE THAT EPISODE ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?

It's funny, I never gave a single shit about Buffy until a few years ago. I knew about the show but just never watched it until someone was like omg it's so awesome, you'd like it. And I was like... alriiiight.
And they were right. And I totally got an autographed print
and photos, and another autographed print from another artist. And we chatted for a while, and took more photos. and and and and

Nibbles wasn't cooperating. I think he was scared.

I look like a loser.
When was the last time I fan girl'd?
Oh yeah, Charles Band. that's right.

Believe it or not I really missed being a little starstruck.
After having been exposed to people who are idolized only to see them for who they really are is disheartening. Everything becomes jaded, and when you watch fans drool over these "idols" your eyes hurt from rolling them so far back into your head.
It's been a while, but it feels good.

And the best part; no groupies. (the stereotypes are 100% true. if she's making friends w/ the whole band, one of them already called dibs on her at that show- wife or no wife.)

Aaaaaand, I also just found out a few days ago that Camden's gonna be at Monsterpalooza. Tooootally gonna bug him, and possibly buy a thingie for him to sign maybe. Hopefully. idk.
He was incredibly nice. I think he realized how happy I was to have met him that he was extra nice, lol.

I got my face draaaawwwwedededed. :B

Karrrlllyyyyyyyyy! Her Little Sister always stands out because she got all the details down. I luz her. She always looks so awesome.
And behind her is Eddie Valiant XD

DOGE :D
but dis time he was there as meme shark XD

he doesn't have a name. He's just Doge guy, hahahaha
but we always spot each other ^_^

Yay horror things!

very shirt
                                           much doge
          wow

ahhh Freakazoid. that cartoon was awesome

That evening (Saturday) there was a costume contest and afterparty.
We had no idea where or when the costume contest was, so we just went to go eat across the street.

WORST NEWS EVER.
IN THAT LITTLE STRIP AREA WHERE ALL THOSE FOOD PLACES WERE...
THEY TOTALLY SHUT EVERYTHING DOWN.
I was soooo looking forward to going to Sharky's and the arcade but they were gone! :((((
Everything was under construction and for lease.. it was fucked up.
The only places left really were Hooters and California Pizza Kitchen. =\
was really bummed.

Either way... we went back to the hotel, changed, rested a bit, and came back to eat, then headed off to what we thought was the afterparty.
But the costume contest was going on.. ending rather.
We missed it. Oh well!
but I ran into a bunch of fwandsiiiieeessss!!!

ANN-TOE-KNEEEE ^________^

He goes hard on his cosplays.
It's ridiculous. That drill works.
It spins.
For real.

He wins something every time he enters, lol. Like... no questions asked. just.. boom.
Oh, Anthony's here? Alright, here's a check for $500.00, you can show us your cosplay later.

Last time he was fucking SONGBIRD for Bioshock Infinite.
How is that possible?
Well... LET ME SHOW YOU IT

And that's Chel as Elizabeth.
Who the fuck cosplays as Songbird, right?
ONLY ANTHONY.
He's like a wizard or something, idfk.
But here's his cosplay page if you wanna check out his work.
He's a supamodel.

I finally ran into Bahb.
Nibbles was trying to smell him?
idk. damnit, Nibbles.

And Chel was there.

Oh, Chel. My sweet, sweet Chel.

She was so hyper, lololol

Everything that came out of her mouth was just hilarious no matter what because she had SO. MUCH. ENERGY. and I couldn't stop taking photos lol

Girl, you so silly. I hearts joo.

Eddie Valiant!
Long time no see. Work's been kinda slow since cartoons went ta' color, but I still go it Eddie!
Boop boop, bee doo, boop!

Love him.

Desiree!!! ^____^
I look forward to seeing her every con. She inspires me to no end for realsies.
She's the embodiment of YUP and awesome.
If you want to start something, but are afraid to because of what others may say, or even afraid of not reaching your own standards....
FUCK IT. Just do it. Do it and be awesome.
Like Desiree :)

Once the music came on no one came out to dance...
except for Jack Sparrow.
As one can expect, he stumbled out to the middle of the dance area and flailed in a convincing, faux stupor to a rhythm known only to his own psyche.

Then more people began to come out

Judy and I were judgy mcjudgersons. We couldn't help it.
The skimpy chick was trying to dance salsa and we were just shredding her, I'm sorry.
I'm not gonna lie
She was doing that sexy dance thing, which... you know.. grats. good for you honey, you get those dicks twitching.
but as soon as this Pitbull song came on and she started that shit we were throwing down the verbal gavel.
It is what is. You've done it too, don't lie.

love ya, mean it

this guy was gangsta

he didn't give a fuk

a couple that cosplays together
looks adorable together

Judy went in on the song w/ the line dancing.
she didn't give a fuk

and GLITCH WAS THERE! :D
him and his chick, Jess!
He instantly recognized me, lol.

We all hung out in the back for a while, just observing the drunkies.

ANN TOE KNEEEEEEE :D

need to stop picking my nose in photos.

omg.
there was this Batman
he was with all the other cosplayers that were dancing, but he WOULDN'T DANCE.
it was so Batman of him
he'd just stand there, so serious. brooding.
it was HILARIOUS.
it became a thing. we'd keep checking in on him to see if he'd dance--- he never did.
and then he went to the back with LatinoJoker
and Judy tells me that she thinks she saw him dancing
and I was like REALLY!!?? she was like yeah! laughing
so I get my phone lol
and switch the camera to creep on him behind us
he was swaying left and right, very slowly, to the rhythm of the song
and it was HILARIOUS

oh Batman, you're such a sassy bitch.

THESE TWO.
so badass

hay Bahb.

There was this Elvis impersonator dude that came on and played some songs.
It killed the crowd and we were dying so I cornrowed Bahb's head.

It's a thing.

  S U N D A Y |

This little kid I swear was a younger version of Fett.
i said he looks a lot like him and Judy goes "he's brown like him, too"
the lols were real.

FAVORITE #2

Walter!!
You have to remember him... right?
He's like, the only Edward Scissorhands I ever capture lol.
He's such a sweetie!

Some sick ass Deadman Wonderland cosupray

It's that Vulcan couple for the afterparty XD

I took this one for Fett. He's in love w/ Rorschach.
lol, when I said thank you to him, he responds "you're welcome" in Rorschach's voice. A hearty, satisfied lol followed the moment.

that fucking chicken.

BAHB.

I saw Camden again, out of cosplay and had to get another photo w/ him!
ugh I need to cut my bangs

That day we mostly just roamed around and did last minute shopping for loved ones.
I went to this booth that said they'd bring a Leechwoman figurine for me- and they did!
After a little bargaining I finally got her in my clutches :)
They brought Jester too but... he ain't that cute.

Then we went outside to eat, where we saw Bahb again.

Bee thought Bahb was another bee, methinks.

I mean... I guess.

We went back inside for one last round to properly say goodbye to LBCE, and headed home.

No panels for us, unfortunately.
We didn't get the program until much later on Saturday, and imo felt like we missed all the good ones anyway.
But we left w/ lots of fun yay memories and some awesome con loot!

That Gentlemen Prefer Blondes print had me by the balls as soon as I saw it.
It's so clever! And it's one of my favorite movies!! I used to watch it religiously on Netflix until my ex finally bought me the dvd, lol. When I saw the print I had to have it, and Camden was kind enough to sign it for me :)
I'll have to keep it on hand for bigger cons just in case Doug Jones ever stops by one so he can autograph the other Gentleman ^_^

All in all, the con was extremely fun. Much more than I was expecting, and we had a blast.
It makes me look forward to seeing what's in store for Long Beach Comic Con later this year.

btw... isn't that Gengar print bad ass?
The arist, Geoff Pascual, is new to cons. but he was an instant hit. When we approached his booth we saw that a few other business dudes were asking him about buying wholesale prints and making him offers. It was crazy, they weren't holding back at all. I could tell the dude was still trying to figure out how to go about it. They were vultures, lol. Either way... his art is beautiful, and he had tons more of many different characters in the nerdy realm. I'll just leave his Etsy link right here.

Aaaannnnddd.. I've been working on a new cosplay for Wondercon.
I still wanna keep it spooky, but this time from .. not a horror movie, lol.

and also this time I decided to try to make it myself, from scratch. because goddamnit... I'm an adult.

so.... totally walked into a Joann Fabrics for the first time in my life. that was weird.
had no idea what to do.
those rolls of fabric were big.
what do i do w/ this? i just want a little bit. WHAT DO I DO
it took me a while to figure out that i had to take them w/ me to a cutter person in the back and tell them i wanted it. and like how much or whatever

I GUESSED.

Supplies:
  • 16 gauge wire
  • purple dye
  • grey dye
  • velcro circle thingies
  • button snap circle thingies
  • cheese cloth
  • 2 yards of white linen-esque fabric
  • 1 yard of sorta stretchyish fabric
  • sheer black fabric from a dress I can no longer wear
  • a gallon jug of water
Online I bought:
  • lantern
  • beak mask
  • black morph suit
Ann toe knee is actually gonna include something really awesome to this. I'm stoked and like... just completely blown away that he even offered to do it. THANKS MANG :D

So like, i don't know how to fucking sew.

Glue gun was my best friend for a while. but this needs a little more than that.
so... YouTube.
I dug out my sewing machine that I bought like 2 years ago and haven't used once, and tutorialed the shit out of myself all day.

Probably jammed that machine at least 8 times easy.
Wasted a shit ton of thread w/ every failed attempt at getting it to do one fucking stitch.

fucked up trying to cut the right measurements for everything.
that was fun

but... I did it.
I made it work.

It's no where near done, but it's getting there.
Can you guess this character?

it's 3AM and I totally work at 8:15AM tomorrow.
