Alright, so kinda last minute, I decided that instead of taking one of my old cosplays that I'm too lazy to fix up right now, to just do something new. But current. But obscure. But also something that covers my face. But also gives me wardrobe freedom.

SO those markings on the globe... were markers where I needed to cut so that my head can fit inside.
Problem: I don't have the tools for that.
I thought I could sand it, but never anticipated the acrylic to be as thick as it was. So I did the next best thing; asked for help.

So, I met him at his place, and he busted out a whole fucking hardware store out of his storage shed.
We were, ideally, looking for a drill saw. Which he said his roommate has, just had to locate it.
While he searched, I ventured.

So after searching for a while, all he could find was this guy:

That thing was LOUD. Like, REALLY loud. I felt bad for his neighbors.
Keith is so awesome for doing this man. Like, dude thanks so much, again, for all the help.
Since that saw was horrendous, I suggested he cut straight lines around the edges first, that way they would create smaller pieces to take off in between the cuts.
After a lot of loud noise and some pro saw-age, he got the cuts finished.
Then it was just a matter of trying to cut on the line in between the cuts....
but then... he spotted a soldering iron he had lying around.
DUDE. Lets fucking melt that shit instead!
AND MELT IT DID, AND IT WORKED. AND IT WAS QUIET.
It took a little while, but with some patience, anime, and steady hands, the acrylic was cut.
I tried it on, and tho it was a little smug, I was able to wear it on my head.
As a show of my thanks, I treated Keith out to dinner.
