Tool

It's that time of year again where we all feel obligated to buy things for people and deaths happen in Wal-Mart! I think actually... the latter was Black Friday. And I could be mistaken... I'm unsure if it was in a Wal-Mart or not. POINT BEING...

Rotny bought me the Rift expansion as an early xmas gift. I got home today and was eager to play it, but when I sat down I remembered I had somewhere to be at 2PM. Did that, got home and started feeling sleepy.
I wish I had the motivation to go in the kitchen and prepare myself coffee but I avoid the living room/kitchen if I can help it. Why?
There's always a weird tension or cloud of resentment when bumping into one of my roommates because while Rot and I have similar personalities, he's the complete opposite and it can be quite overbearing.

Today Rot and I were having a talk about some of the things that have yet again made things uncomfortable. His desk is set up in the living room because of his music projects, and my bizarre sleep/work schedule has me napping in the middle of the day. But he feels he has zero time or space to himself. I'm always in my room you see, however our roommate is... not like he and I. And it can be... mentally exhausting for our quiet, solitary comforts. I wish there was more that I could do, and I've suggested he mention it to him again, but that's all that we can do. Culture shock of clashing personalities is rather bothersome because it's quite easy to solve - once all parties are self aware of their influence.

I just went off on a completely different thing all because of coffee. Writing, why you so therapeutic?
Also today I learned why someone would smell like copper.
Check yo'self. Because you're slowly suffocating those around you, and will eventually kill them.

BACK TO RIFT THINGS yeah...
What about GW2?
I liked it but not enough apparently. It was great and all but there was a lot about it that was just kinda all over the place. Mainly that the classes you pick really don't matter. There aren't roles. People just go in and zerg everything. There's no real synergy to anything is what I'm saying. You grind and grind and grind ... and grind and grind.. and grind some more. And then grind some more. And then... grind some more. And that's pretty much it. Oh, I forgot.. you farm stuff in order to grind through more stuff faster. It seems brainless. I got bored of the repetitiveness that felt never ending of just... constant grinding and farming to level. There were different ways to complete quests... like.. instead of going off to kill 12 monsters for some guy you could travel somewhere and collect 20 of some rare plant instead. I can appreciate that- the variety. However, it's all still the same in theory. And there were random "events" where a bunch of monsters spawned somewhere with a boss you fought at the end. Eh.
It's a good filler, but not enough.        I just went off again...
It's good to be back to Rift. I miss traditional mechanics. Trion added one more soul to each class in this expansion, and they're so... experimental. O_o I shall clarify.

4 Classes:
Warrior - Cleric - Rogue - Mage.

They all had 8 different sub-roles you can elect 3 at a time to play as. Some compliment each other well, but it's really up to you.

As a warrior you could choose to be a "tank" class.. so you'd pick the 3 'souls' that gravitate towards that role, or you can be a warrior who just does damage.. and pick the souls that suit that role best.

As a mage you could be a healer or a damage dealer. Support roles are also there depending on how you chose your 'souls' that gave you a bit of both.

Same with Clerics and Rogues. So there's a lot of flexibility in the game as far as customizations in play style and even pace of combat as weird as that sounds. In this expansion they gave all the classes one more subrole (or soul) to choose from. THEY'RE SO WEIRD.

Warriors got this ranged damage thing now...
Mages got a melee thing... which is earth shattering because I've never heard of a wizard doing melee combat
and... I don't care about Clerics or Rogues. So I don't know. But I'm sure it's something just as bizarre. Actually I just looked at the new Cleric soul. Basically a warlock that heals. Sounds ... interesting >_> hmmmm....
and Rogue.... ah, a ranged spell casting soul. Basically a mage with heals. HMMM.

Well there ya go. That's some serious flexibility. Cleric's new one sounds cool though...  "Defiler" it's called. I might, ahem, experiment with that more once I return from my trip.

As of right now I'm lacking in the image department. But here's a little something.

My pet bat :3

I have a level 50 on both factions, and 3 mages all together. I haven't decided what I'm gonna play yet. I also have a Cleric that I wanna level and was undecided on up until tonight. And I wanna delete my lower level mage but she has a crafting skill that my main character could benefit from. Grr! lol
I don't think I'll be playing Guardian side again though. I think Azuarak has retired for good.

Rot woke me from my nap and my sleepy butt demands cereal!
