Despite its size, LBCC did not disappoint.
There was so much going on at that point and so much up in the air that basically going to Long Beach and taking a shit in the street would've been delicious escapism. But... that's not to say I didn't prefer that specific event over anything else.
So by this point, I had no money. Like... I could not touch any of the money in my bank account due to the move, and all the shit that was gonna hit the fan.
Because of this... I took the train.
There was no way I was gonna miss this, at least.. not after having purchased a non-refundable ticket. So. It had to happen, broke or not. I had some spare cash from a big commission that would serve towards transportation and food, perhaps a gift or two. It was going to be okay. Just gotta pretend everything else around me isn't blowing up. :D
Saturday morning I slept in until 9 something and got ready to head to the train station.
Kinda panicked a little bit. But it's all good... I figured it out.
I've been getting much better about the whole traveling by myself on public transportation thing. It still turns me off incredibly, but the trip wasn't so bad. It was quiet for the most part, and no one bothered me. I napped. And it was 5 bucks for a long ass commute round trip. Not so bad. At the end of the day I strongly believe in beggars can't be choosers.
(Applying it to myself without bias makes me feel self-disciplined, even though it really wasn't that big of a deal.)
I have never been anywhere near Compton in my life. I've heard things about it... awful things.
You guise I was totally in Compton! For maybe like 3 minutes but I was there! Nothing happened to me, thankfully. I'm almost certain that would have potentially ruined probably the whole trip if someone tried to assault me or something.
Once I got to the station of COURSE I get a little lost walking around trying to find the convention center. Sam, muh lady friend (Lauren's friend) was working Dave's booth again and gave me sort of functional directions, lol. I took her literally.
There's this thing I do where I take people literally and not apply any sort of context to what they could possibly have meant, instead. It is probably one of the most frustrating things in existence, because I hate guessing what people mean. Not everyone is as eloquent even within their own thoughts, and sometimes what they meant to say comes out differently in the spoken word. Many times the person assumes you understand them, and many times it works out that way--- for other people. Not me! Nope. I will take you SO literally. Ya.
So, that's a thing.
It can be hilarious, or it can be frustrating. Either way, I hold zero responsibility for how anything is translated :D
She mentioned that I had to go towards the Promenade center, which was this huge archway that said Promenade on top in big letters. So I look for the Promenade and go towards it, leading me into it, leading me in the opposite direction of the convention center. She meant to say once I go off the train to head in the direction towards the Promenade and keep going straight.
I went around looking for the Promenade and went towards it.
Who does that? Me. ;)
So after walking around in that Promenade area I thought to myself "I don't think the convention center would fit here."
There was a nice Hispanic janitor lady hauling around a cart of cleaning stuff-- I asked her for directions. She pointed in the other direction across the street and said it was straight ahead. I totally went that way and it totally was! haha
Oh hullo, Long Beach Convention Center... we meet again!
Must get to the croooowwwwdd further uppp
Yay a Tuskan Raider and a Jawa, awwwww ^_^
Went inside, looked around for any familiar cosplayers or faces (nope) and went to grab my badge.
It's a weird feeling, going alone. I liked it. I felt like one of those obscure photographers that have a mission and no one bothers, because I was alone, going to take pictures and that's almost basically it, except that periodically someone wants my picture, too. The world was mine to do with what I willed, and it was awesome!
Moogle cute.
First time I saw a TB Catwoman. Props
OH MY GHAD YOU GUISE, AND THEN LOOK.
I was so exciiited! They looked so great!
Definitely a favorite this run :D
Made my way through the lobby and descended down into the show floor. First thing I see;
Yummy Vader.
I go straight to the back where all the Star Wars shit tends to be, along with 501st Legion's stuff. Mmmpf
As I walked around I came by a booth that sold little necklaces and bracelets ornate with keyboard keys. I was like omg and got an AWSD bracelet. I couldn't not, hello who am I
Then I found Sam at Dave's booth! :D
It was the tallest booth in Artist Alley so it was pretty easy to spot.
She was running the booth for most of the day for him because he had a prior emergency thing sort of, so I would visit her to keep her company. She gave me M&M's and wouldn't let me share them with her THAT BETCH
As usual, I was also on a mission to find a cosplayer. It took a little wandering, because looking at the map on the program would've made too much sense. Eventually I spotted him at a booth in a corner. Lookit lookit!
It's D Piddy! ^_^
D'awww so kawaii
So sick... omg.
And then like, condoms and stuff.
There was an announcement over the loudspeaker calling for all DC and Marvel cosplayers to come outside for a photo meet up. I hauled my way out there also, of course. Duh.
I took way more pictures but essentially they all look like this.
I was competing with photographers and a yucky angle, so this was basically it. lol
Chewwwwwyyy Chewww
When I went back inside, to my pleasant surprise I spotted the cosplayer that was at Blizzcon who entered the costume contest as He Who Has No Life.
Everyone absolutely loved him.
If you don't get it, it was a character from the South Park episode "Make Love, Not Warcraft" parodying World of Warcraft and it's addictive allure.
He nailed it, and it was hilarious.
ANYWHO. He was there! I had to take pictures!
Dude's name is Jarod and was extremely cool to talk to. I gave him props. What a creative cosplay! lolol I love it
We saw him at Comikaze, remember? Except he has his friend, Thor, with him.
So ridiculous.
Mmmpf...
This is what service dogs look like....
I want to post this picture on every social media outlet for Starbucks so that their customers can learn something, or at least acknowledge how shitty they are.
Just sayin.
eau hellooooo
Rot asked why he had a boner. I didn't have an answer for him.
There was also a silent auction going on. I'm totally irrelevant but it was open to view so I did just that.
Oh, hey again!
mmmm, Ramen...
Lulz.
The neato thing is...he was standing right next to Tara and Donald Strand.
They were the first super awesome cool Joker and Harley Quinn cosplayers I saw years and years ago. I sort of wanted to say hi and talk to them for a little bit but they were kinda huddled around people and I got uncomfortable. Funny enough sometime I see them walking around the area here. I also saw them at Bat's Day.
One day.... one day...
She's my favorite Harley Quinn. She looks.... EXACTLY like Harley.
I always thought her and the Harley's Joker cosplayer should team up and do a super sick legit Harley and Joker shoot.
lol, made the mistake of 'voicing' that opinion publically on Tumblr once, with a SHIT ton of people agreeing with me, and his girlfriend came at me like WHAT ARE YOU IMPLYING, HE'S MY BOYFRIEND AND TARA IS MARRIED TO DONALD AND THEY HAVE A BABY AND LIVE HAPPILY TOGETHER
I was like..... uh... whoa... grats but wtf does that have to do with anything rofl?

See!!?!?
Not only that but they're both insanely attractive as their characters.
Someone needs to re-evaluate some personal stuff, methinks.
Back to visit Samantha!
Dave arrived and told her to go off and have fun and do con stuff. So we did just that and walked around. She got a bunch of stuff!
I also was spotted by someone who I was always very fascinated with!
He, ironically, was out of what I normally see him in. But I got to talk to him as himself, and he is the sweetest! Thank you for coming to say hi! You said you always see me at other cons but were too afraid to approach me, NEVER AGAIN! :D
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant
For once, I cared about ESP enough to stop and look at them, despite being surrounded by a shit ton of them before.
I'm ignorant.
Heeeeyyy, Mr. Flower might appreciate this :P
eeeeeeeeeeeee!!
^_______________^ boobays
I LOVE HER. SHE WAS SO CUTE AHMG
I went back to take another picture. Can't help muhself.
Sam and I got stuffs to eat and then went back in for shopping things (mostly her) and we passed this booth in Artist Alley where they dude wrote out anything you wanted in characters! Like... comic book, movie, television characters! It was so pretty!
Sam bought one for her boy, Geoff. It came out incredible. The guy finished it in two hours.
By the time he was finished, it was already time to go. This con ends kinda early [6PM] and so we started heading out. She had also taken the train back so we came home together.
Totally forgot-- Geoff was at Jason's show that night! Jason also had asked me to do merch for him originally, but LBCC was that weekend so it didn't work out. But Geoff is his engineer, and so Sam had no ride home. I offered to drop her off, but on our way out of the station we saw Kyle waiting for her! Such a sweetie, that Kyle!
They were hungry, and there was a Panera Bread right across the street, so we all went, and Kyle was a super duper gentlemen and treated me to dinner. So much better than Ramen, lol.
Thank you, Kyle!
I hadn't left the con completely empty handed, though!
I wanted to get gifts for my two special loves (it was all I could afford).

I got AIDs and gave it to Lauren.
When I was giving it to her I didn't tell her, so it was a surprise. I told her I didn't tell her because I loved her. She laughed and hugged me, total opposite of the reaction from learning you just got AIDs.
She loved it.
Just for this I will probably someday contract HIV and die of it, and then look back on this entry and .. I don't even know.
And I got the Ebola virus and gave it to Rotny because he absolutely disdains everyone ever and Ebola would clear the population out in the coolest way.
Widdle Mr. nihilistic grinchy grinch!
He really loved it though. He made it pretty apparent I think, lol.
And thus concludes my Long Beach Comic Con entry!
It was a two day event, but I was pooped, and broke, and not in the mood to take the train again.
Besides, the con was ending at 4 the following day and there wasn't anything I think I missed, since it was such a teensy con. It was fine. I had a good time and got to see a bunch of neato people in cosplay.
Also, that weekend was the weekend that another Elder Scrolls Online beta wave was going on. So I had to get some time playing that.
My thoughts: Doesn't feel like an MMO whatsoever. Just feels like another Elder Scrolls game. I wasn't digging it. Looks beautiful, but that doesn't mean shit. The content was meh. Apply this to everything in your life and you'll be happier. Gentlemen, apply this to women. Trust me.
No matter how hot she is, the content might not be as good. Beware, because we're crazy, broken, and emotional. Just sayin. Just like PS4s. ZING
is that pink eye?
STAY TUNED
