The ads are coming for me. There's so much cool baby stuff. Specifically the wood crafted stuff. By stuff I mean toys. I think I've catapaulted into this realization about myself that is having so much fun with wooden toys. Like, they feel good, they sound good. They look cool. They're simple! I'm over here trying to land carrots into their designated holes from 2 feet in the air. The clonk of the wood when it lands is so satisfying. And even more so when it lands in the hole. So fun!
I got Mung Bean this wooden rocket with a tiny rocket inside. Can put tiny Miffy in there and go to Jupiter or something.
This almost makes me wanna go full tilt Gipetto and make wooden toys. Or like... the Sculptor in Sekiro... and sculpt her wooden doll houses and stuff. Instead, I painted her some wooden thingies from the craft store for Lunar New Year, lol. It's the ugliest, dumbest "toy" ever, but I wanted to make her something :\.
BUT THESE ADS, MAN. THEY KNOW. AND THEY'RE COMING FOR ME. But... I have gotten around to discovering new family owned companies that have really cute things. They're just way more expensive T_T.
I really like the wooden stuff though. It feels so old timey. Number one.
Number two, it just looks nice.
Number 3, wooden toys aren't loud or obnoxiously colored.
Number 4, they encourage imagination. Her rocket... it doesn't make sounds for her. She makes sounds for it. Those rocket engine and propulsion noises? All Mung Bean fueled. And Miffy's got planets to visit, we're on a schedule.
This is the first of many voyages into space for Team Miffy

This historic launch would not have been possible without the endless dedication and teamwork from the crew at Io Bun Headquarters
Thank you all and congratulations on your first launch.

Parenthood stuff:
Am caterwaul at 4am. No singing back? K, am push every tings for fall for making big noise. Every nights.
For something that was from the 60's, this model is so much more intricate than I could've imagined. The models I've seen are super detailed, but nothing close to this.
Yeah.
Parenthood stuff:
It's been cool. She's hitting milestones like crazy. We're not really pushing her towards anything, which has been a learning thing for us. Parenthood for us wasn't really like... something we took to with a lot of structure. It kind of started that way for myself, but quickly realized that infants don't understant any of that stuff, they just want comfort from mom and dad. The rest is really for us. We tell ourselves they need it to flourish but LOL yeah right. It's our projection, that's it.
So we just kinda dropped all the structure stuff and went with what felt organic? Waaaaayyy less stressful. They don't tell you that in the Eastern Parenthood Multiverse of Sterilized Anecdotals from Emotionally Compromised Parents on the Internet.
To be completely frank, I found a lot of common ground with someone in NZ that instills Montessori principals. Had no clue wtf that was but it's basically like, 'Believe in your kid, they're not as stupid or fragile as you think they are. Here's how to enrich that, etc etc.' Easiest thing ever lol. Ms. Rachel is insufferable. Everything about all of that. Just.
Her audience is not here.

Watching Mung Bean bulldoze through obstacles on her own without fear or seeking validation from me is incredible. Of course, this will need balancing as she gets older, as all things do. But in the meantime, we just sit back and trust the process. Crazy, right?

So I got this thing a while ago and finally opened it
For something that was from the 60's, this model is so much more intricate than I could've imagined. The models I've seen are super detailed, but nothing close to this.
It's got like 843 pieces, a lot of which are miniature 3D puzzles to assemble of organs and structures. I can't believe how cool this model is.
It even came with pregancy components! WITH disorted organs around the uterus!
So this was obviously bought 2nd hand. And it looked like the person who had it before had glued some of the pieces together, as the little pegs to lock them in aren't very secure. I was actually super OK with this because if that hadn't been the case, it would've taken me forever to assemble everything. And that's not a luxury I have these days to put into building projects. So, hooray! She now stands next to Bob, my other anatomy model.
Mung Bean experienced her first seafood buffet last month.
She was a big fan.
She gonna be a foodie, I'm so excited lol.

Look what Mr. Chicken did for Valentine's Day, lol waaah
I was craving grilled cheese and he quickly whipped this up for my breakfast T_T
He makes me breakfast all the time and this was just a special touch to it that made it so sweet.
I honestly hadn't planned anything for Valentine's Day. Kind of forgot about it, I can barely keep track of what day it is. But he did this and said my gift was on its way. I felt bad I hadn't gotten him anything for Valentine's Day, he said it was fine. I had recently impulse bought him some stuff I thought he'd like and he said he prefers those 'no reason' occasions more. I agree! I know he didn't have to make me a cute heart shaped anything, but he did. I still appreciate it lol. Obligation or not! Hahaha
I'd be sad if we became like that though... only did special stuff on special occasions instead of like, because we enjoy each other. lol womp womp.
SPEAKING OF:
We went to California Adventure the next day. Just because.
LNY was in full swing and we had to check it out.
We never go on weekends.
We gave Sunday a shot.
We gave Sunday a shot.
no thnx, BYE.
Never again.
Few days later I took us on a stroll to the cemetery.
Never again.
Tried. Nope. Gross.
Few days later I took us on a stroll to the cemetery.
We were there to see friends!
Animal and Hooman friends ^_^
I saw something and had to get it for Cris, lol. I got one for myself too. It's gross, I'm so proud.
Cris gave me a Strabby Sonny!!! She knew I was trying for one when they released uwu, rofl. This is actually the one I wanted, because Mung Bean loves strabbies T_T. Tia Cris is da bess, waaaahhh.
Aaaand we're back, lol.
Eat noodles for more HP
Cheers to the good stuff!
The parade is great. I know why there aren't any but I wish there were lions.
Mung Bean was right at the front. Her interactions with the cast members were thrilling, she was so into everything!
The one and only! Horace! And Clarabelle's beau. It's not up for debate. :D
After the parade, we shimmied over to Magic Key Terrace for drinkies and loungies.
It's a nice view from up there. It was also great to see that they've expanded on their menu significantly. When we went a few years back, the menu was one page with lackluster pickings to accompany libations. That's no longer the case. We were full already, but I'm so down to go there again and try the new offerings.
Before calling it a day, we had to get our calligraphy keepsakes and write our wish for the new year.
The word choices were:
- Fortune
- Prosperity
- Longevity
- Horse
- Courage
- Good Health
- Wealth
- Joy/Happiness
Then I went to write my wish and hang it. I showed Mung Bean. She won't tell anyone, I'm sure of it.
Mulan was at the Meet & Greet in the pavillion but... Mung Bean already met her so we bounced, lol. Also, as plain as day, she loves walking with tio Smurr. Whom we peer pressured just a little bit into getting a Disney hoodie because it was cold one day :D. Huehuehuehue.
We called it a day after that. It was a good trip! LNY this year was cool. Last year was a flop, Idk what happened. I guess it's kinda hard to push Snake characters? But there didn't seem to be much happening last year, so we checked it out once and noped out.
I wonder how Goat will go next year!
Here are little moments where Mr. Chicken is extra sweet for no reason.
He went out to grab us dinner and stopped by Miniso to get Mung Bean her Miffy. And he surprised me twice with this book and then made me cute breakfast the next morning after letting me sleep in a little more. He does this ALL the time. and I guess it's why Valentine's Day feels kinda dumb anymore, lol.
I'm not hot anymore, that's cool. LOL.
Like, I never thought I was insanely hot, but I'm not stupid. I know why all those morons wanted to be around me. I'm freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Here are my rags these days. It's great. Feels good.
I like myself more this way!
I like myself more this way!
I took her back to the mortuary to visit some folks. Sadly, only one was available to see us. He was awesome and gave Mung Bean a cup of fish pellets to feed the koi. She loved that. He also grabbed a handful of candy and stuffed it into my bag. He a good people uwu.
So I took us to another part of the cemetery
We had so much fun!
She was so happy running around, and I felt so safe and at peace. The grounds security circled and perimeter and I was able to breathe.
It's a reality for me to feel unsafe in public parks. When I take her there for walks, I always feel I need to look over my shoulder. Always. I play scenarios out in my head and almost plan my maneuvers from so many angles. Things I'd yell, call out, and my resorts to survival should the need arise.
As a petite woman... now even more vulnerable with my daughter in her stroller, I'm always on high alert. The only times I'm not are when we're at Disneyland or the cemetery. ISN'T THAT INSANE?!
So, hanging out there with her was a huge relief. We cleared off some markers that got burried as a thank you for letting us hang around. Mung Bean was so good too. She didn't touch the gravestones. Just sprinted around them all. It was interesting, I thought she'd totally wanna climb them or something but nope. That's my baby!
And a few days ago, Mr. Chicken took Mung Bean to a Lunar New Year thing. I was working and so jealous.

She looked so cute in her dress that her ama got her in Taiwan.
Man. That looks so cool. I had major FOMO. lol. It's k, I was happy she was able to see the dancing lions. I'd put videos of them on and she was so into it. GOOD JUJU KITTIES. GOTTA PETS.
That morning, Mr. Chicken made me french toast again but it was Ophelia, LOL. She a chonker when she sits down. Her primordial pouch is pouchy, hahaha. I loved this so much!! Made my morning ^_^
I get to wake up with kisses from her and look over to see my wonderful husband sleeping soundly next to us.
This is what fortifies my heart against so much anguish that continues every second, all over the world. So, I count my blessings every single day.
Took Mung Bean to Disneyland recently!

We got on a lot of rides. Uncommon, lol. But we left after like 5 hours. It was a good run!

February was fun. March has been nice so far.
I also checked off my goal since like, 2016 lol. I'm in the process to hand in my embalmer application for the state of california.
General Education / Pre-Requisites
Rage-quit because of math
Went back a year later to finish
(COVID-19 set me back 3 years)
Mortuary Science School
Funeral Director's License
2-Year Apprenticeship
100 embalmings
Embalming exam
All done. Finally. Just gotta turn in the paperwork and... thoughts and prayers... lmao... ahem..um... and yeah. I'll have achieved The Thing.
Crazy. It's Disney magic. And me. I'll take credit for all of that, tysm. And my parents, and my friends. And the CA grants. Being a poor student actually benefitted me because I qualified for so much financial assistance - so long as my grades were good. Anywho.
Is this my endgame? Lol NAAAAAHHHH. There's a lot more to unlock, but it's still kinda wild.
Here's a complaint because that's what makes the world go round: my back hurts T_T
That's all folks! Be well and be good to one another :D
