BATS DAY Weekend 2015

It's 2 A.M. I just finished eating two mayo and bologna sammiches on toast, but spic'd it up w/ avocado and shredded mexican cheese. And I'm just now realizing how hilariously un-White that is.

There's so much to share from this last weekend at Disneyland!!
If you weren't able to decipher my title, this entry is about Bats Day. yah.

but Cynth, what is ... Bats Day?
Well, reader, if you highlight "Bats Day" with your cursor, then right click, this prompt will appear:

Ya click on "Search Google for 'Bats Day'" and there ya go.

This has been a tradition for my friends Ponies and Stitches for several years, but I only recently got to join them about 5 years ago, when I had the honor to go for the first time ever in 2010. It was my first visit to Disneyland as well. Was pretty dope.
But it's only been that last 3 years that I've been actively helping my friend Ponies vendor at his booth. His books have gained a small audience that we hope will continue growing, and my hope is to be able to help him make his awesome stories known.

Bats Day 2015 was technically a 3-day event, but we only participated in 2; the Bats Day Black Market (Saturday) and Bats Day Fun in the Park (Disneyland on Sunday). The 1st event was on Friday evening, which was a masquerade sorta dealio. I don't think I'll ever really have the passion or funds to go all out on elaborate 16th century aristocratic Gothic attire, so... fukkit. I mostly go to be w/ Ponies and enjoy the Gothies invading Disneyland.

Ponies was already at the hotel when Stitches and I arrived around 2PM. The traffic was horrible and figuring out parking at the hotel, which should've been pretty direct, was a confusing hassle that resorted to fukkits and VIP parking >_<. That morning, I did myself up in my Bride make up and hair to draw some stares to Ponies' booth because from what he had told me, he was in a shitty spot. And to make matters more annoying, he was sort of hidden behind a larger booth w/ long clothing racks that left us in a blind spot. Getting ready that morning was a bit of a challenge as I tried my best to remember how I did everything for cons with such limited time. I woke up at 9, thinking I'd be done by 10 and get there by 11, maybe a bit after because of picking up Stitches. BOY WAS I WRONG.

He was all set up and ready to go. It was just a waiting game for the doors to open to the public.

"it's called goth you stupidface starecrow"

this was our view from our booth. It was more exciting to people watch.

 YUP.
He was there. Right in front of us.

But... I like Charles Bands' vision better.

Before they opened the doors we walked around the floor for a bit to view the other vendors.

 This booth was particularly awesome.

Ponies ended up getting me this precious little tea cup.
It's the cutest ever and I love it so much and and and omg

 Kaira was there too ^^

Unfortunately, one we got there my phone battery was already below 50% from the GPS to get there and using it to play music during the ride, sooooo I wasn't able to take a shit ton of photos for the sake of making the battery last as long as possible. It died twice.
But this time, I had gone upstairs to take off my wig and let my phone charge for 10 minutes.

 so awesome, lol

 Eric!!!! ^_^

Someone totally drove this there and...

the gun is a fucking Mickey head. guys. It's a Mickey head.

It was a really successful day for Ponies. He made back a lot more than he did last year, and that was even with his sale prices. We saw some people from last year who are fans of the series, which lit Ponies up. How awesome that must feel to have people waiting for you to come out with your next project because they enjoy your work so much! It was a good day. Good, good day ^_^

Once we were done packing everything up, we headed to the Japanese food place that we've gone to for the last 3 years.
We were REALLY hungry...

We ordered a lot of food....
again.

Once we went back to the hotel and got to our rooms we were pretty much out immediately. It was a long day!

Jess and I got up at 9 and started getting ready. We didn't get to the park until almost 1. Again, parking lots were filled, so we took a long ass detour that took us in a massive circle, basically back to where our hotel was, to park there for $17, and walk all the way back to the park.

Once we got there, we immediately got some food.
Ponies was too cool for food, so he got boxed water.

what the fuck.

bread bowls are like... my source of happiness next to Ramen and creme brulee and mochi ice cream and steam buns and chinese food and and and

ugh look at my fat fucking stomach >_<
yuck.

but HOORAY! :D lol Bats Day is a-go!

It was already pretty packed. We didn't see many gothies on our way in. but it was only a matter of time...

 Selfies were imminent.

 HORSIE.

 SO.
This year, Ponies and I decided that we were going to participate in the group photo. It was a good day at the Black Market, and this year we wouldn't be as cynical and judgey. So we made our way to the spot and stood right smack dab in the middle, and waited.

 lol always smiling

 HORSIE!
just kidding. it's only my face.

We found our spot, and damnit, we were gonna guard it!

More and more people started gathering, until finally it was a horrible uncomfortable cluster of DOOM.

Noah stepped in when it was time to get the photo going. He made the first two rows of people step forward and kneel down. THAT was all kinds of ouch. Just about everyone there was in pain from their boots lmao

As soon as the group photo was done, (I'd post it but I didn't purchase one), we all hauled ass to Jungle Cruise for the Goth Boat meet!

That's Bernadette. I love her name. She's a big fan of Ponies' books and travels here every year.

After this, we met up w/ Kyle and Jenna.
Haven't seen them in foreeeevvvaaaarrrrrr!!

Jenna was gimpy this time around because she had surgery, but the plus side was that for some of the rides, we got to go through the special access entrances for Le Gimpies.

 PIRATES!! :D

And then later on we met up with Sindee, Ponies' friend! ^_^

We went on the Tea Cups ride and then Alice in Wonderland storybook ride. As our little car was turning the corner to enter the ride, WE SAW THE PARADE AND MICKEY WAVED AT US AND SO DID PLUTO :DDDD

Then, shortly after this, we waited for Stephen to meet us. We were one big happy group ^^

 they matched XD

Lunch tiiiiiime.
Before Space Mountain we needed food.

but evidently Stephen needed more make-up.

Sindee's braces are so cool. I'm jelly. She looks beautiful in them

 Jenna is my spirit animal.

 *still applying make-up*

 :BB

 HURH o-O

Just kidding, we went on Star Tours :D
BEST RIDE EVAAAR

We got to go through the special secret entrance :P

Kyle hates getting his picture taken. that butt.

Team Buzz Lightyear vs. Team Zerg.
I had the churro so I think we pwnd them pretty kinda imo.

 GOALS.

Makes ya wonder why this had to be implemented..

 Miranda to my Carrie.

We then went to the Haunted Mansion for the other group photo :DD

Ran into BlackFriday a few times this weekend. Finally was able to get a photo w/ her, even though it's utterly shit. She's a youtuber, and I love her. She's the sweetest.

 Paraaaaaade

It got colder, and we were getting really tired. But we managed to squeeze in a few more turns in Star Tours and Astro Blasters before saying goodbye to Disneyland.
The fireworks were also really pretty.

It was girls vs. boys. Kyle and Jenna, Jess and Carlo, and Stephen and myself.
He got rekt. OBVS.
That's my intense shooting face.

It was an awesome day. Best Bats Day to date. There was some stuff going on, but over-all, I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Can't wait for next year already.

While there, I also got Fett a Star Wars Lego kit.

While we were at the mall the other day, we were eyefucking all the Star Wars Lego stuff and figured this may be a nice little thingiiiieee..

So we ate pasta and he mostly put it together lol
dat shirt tho

And thus ends my Bats Day entry.
Aaaaaahhh, it was so much fun! I didn't get home til 3 AM, and had work at 7AM the next day LOL. It was absolute hell, and I was pretty exhausted, but it was so worth it.

And since then, I've been going out and doing stuff like a normal person w/ a normal social life. Weirdest thing ever. THE WEIRDEST. But it feels good. It's kind of a change of pace for me, but maybe it's something I needed? Either way... there's more. :)

Now, I should probably .. fuck it, I'll write another entry! haha
It's not like I have to be up tomorrow to get ready for Disneyland again or anything..... >_> MWAHAHA
