I got the weirdest commission that for some reason was tricky to figure out the execution of.
Proooobably don't give myself enough credit but I'm not the most creative person with design. Randomly I'll get these little ideas out of NOWHERE that I think would be great, and then when I go to try to sculpt it... it doesn't come out how I thought it would. My mind is way more proficient at coming up with pretty things than my hands are at making them just like that.
Anywho... someone wanted a two headed polar bear. One head being cute, and the other all bloodied up. This was tough for me because I didn't know if I wanted it to be realistic, or cartoony, or cutesy, or what. He gave me complete artistic freedom with it but I suck! lol
but after some.... annoying things.... it started coming along and I didn't hate it.
You guys it was so ugly before. The heads were just round, and the ears were too big. And I couldn't get the muzzles right. And the eyes were different. And getting the two heads to sit together at the right angles was awkward forever. So I had to keep re-doing it, lol.
Being a perfectionist really can be a curse, but I also like my clients happy. So... I guess that's good hahaha.
I made it kinda teddy bearish. But not totally so it still kinda looks like a deformed bear cub. Does that make sense? I don't even know. IT'S A TWO HEADED POLAR BEAR WITH A MUTILATED SECOND HEAD. THAT HAS NO JAW. I don't even know why that occured to me. It's tongue is hanging out of its skull.... And it's missing an eye. And its ears are torn. And a paw is missing.
But I shaded the healthy cub with some yellow that you see on actual polar bears in the wild, all up on their foreheads and around their paws and noses.
I DON'T KNOW YOU GUYS. I DON'T KNOW.
but it's cute..... right? lol
The bottom image is the final version of it, glazed and ready to send out, which already shipped.
So yeah. That was a thing.
If anyone would like to commission something just as equally fucked up and cute .... I'm ... here. For your manifesting needs.
Speaking of which... my boss commissioned the Vault Boy from Fallout 3 for his wife. Cutest thing ever. And I'm also in the process of making an adorable little body bag.
Body bags can be cute. It just takes some imagination. I'm sure of it.
Ew, wtf lol.
Just kidding. I really enjoyed making it, despite the creative block. And it was for a dear buddy of mine in SF. I was more than happy to make it for him.
I am hoping that more of these start coming in. I love the gross and cute combined, and making them a real thing! So bring me your wishes and I will conjure them :D
For now, I return to my body bag. It's wearing a diaper because it bloodies itself all the time and diapers help with that.

... and you rocked it! Thanks again, can't wait to see him in person!
