My second trip to Disney recently could not have happened if it wasn't for my co-worker, Freckles. She works there, and offered to assist in making Disneyland a thing again because she maybe splits. Being that another co-worker has a Disney pass, it turned into a bigger thing. SO DISNEY BASICALLY WAS A THING. Again.
Was Jack Skellington going to be the source of all of my squees this time around? Not so much. I'm over Jack. Jack and I.... we had to just... end it because... I can't go on in life pretending that Jack is played by 15 different actors wondering which Jack is truly the Jack that fell in love with me the day Lauren and I went, so. It's over. It's just so over. (We walked by him and it was a different actor. I could tell by his physique. NOPE)
There is something squeaking outside and I want to go see what it is ....
Boo. Nothing. :(
Anywho, Fett, Freckles and I all decided to meet up there at around 10. Freckles was already there since she had stayed over at a friends' house, while Fett and I carpooled.
BTW it's bullshit that they only allow 12 year olds and under on the swinging tire thing. Not my fault I'm not 12. shit.
We were there basically forever. Until Freckles had to leave :(
But we went on everything we could and wasted no time while she was with us!
I'm a tool.
I've been on this ride a few times and have only seen three of the scenarios.
Hoth (with Boba Fett )
Naboo (the big ugly fish thing)
and most recently I think it was Endor. It had to have been because we went to the Death Star. Idk.
It's always exciting though because you never know what scenario you're gonna get. It's completely random.
The best thing was that it was a Monday, and so it wasn't very busy. At most there were just a lot of stay at home moms with their terrible toddlers. Err... toddlers in their terrible twos. School is great in that weekday events can be awesome, hassle-free, times. It's in the summertime that you gotta avoid everything like the plague.
The lines were AWESOME.
My favorite part of the Nightmare Before Xmas Haunted Mansion-- The Gingerbread house!
The sweet, spicy scent of Cinnamon and Brown Sugar fill the air and rouse the senses. It's a real treat ^_^
I look like a criminal.
The Tarzan treehouse thing was cute. Never been up there. Dumb, but cute.
Indiannnna Jooooooonnes!!
Before Freckles had to leave we wanted to head over to California Adventure and knock some stuff out there. Even though the lines weren't awful in Disneyland, there were also a lot of rides that were under maintenance. So we all just agreed to split to CA and hang out there. YAY FUN WEE :D
I haven't been to California Adventure in a really long time. The last few times I went to Disney I could only afford the pass for strictly Disney, lol. That shit is NOT cheap! So. This was especially awesome for me.
The little things!
We went up into this like.... jungle tree house thing with a shit ton of rope bridges and shit that tested your ability to tolerate existing and walking on this fucking rope bridge thing at the same time. Fett turned 4 and was hauling ass to the top, while Freckles and I wobbled after him like two wounded, dying, triceratops hauling themselves over still-cooling molten rock.
So graceful.
Just succumb to gravity, folks.
My nose in the first picture looks like I grew a third elbow out of my face.
We didn't get the memo that this area was basically for children until we tried to get in line with the other kids for the sliding tire swing thing that launches you forward down this rope with a pulley system. I mean it looked really fun and potentially hazardous and even life endangering so we were like OMG LETS GO ON THAT.
We didn't see the sign that said 12 years and younger.
Whatever. We're adults. We don't need stupid cool looking tire projectile swing death traps anyway.
I CAN STAY UP ALL NIGHT. SO.
Freckles had to go shortly after that. :(
So we walked here back to the gate and said goodbye. I hugged her muy muy big and thanked her again for the massive favor. She said she never used it because everyone she knows either already has a pass or works there, but it was still nice of her to do it.
Once she left Fett and I decided to just stay in California Adventure. It's safe to say that I Disney'd myself out a little bit.
California Adventure looks super pretty at night. It got darker way earlier too.
Tower of Terror was a priority.
Twice.
Shit my pants.
The line was like... a baby line. best thing ever.
LOVE Tower of Terror. omg.
Once she left we were hungry since we hadn't eaten all morning sooooooooooo.....
Mexican food.
I can't help it.
And he kinda looks Mexican I guess-- or something.
So.
Yeah.
The park got prettier and prettier as it got darker.
The Ferris Wheel was too obnoxious to not get on.
Especially with the swinging gondolas? Pshh. YES PLOX.
Soooooooooo pretty!!!
Tower of Terror was re-visited. There was like no line.
Also earlier on, we wanted to get on Space Mountain but of course it was down for maintenance. That was kind of a bummer.
We got some churros and then decided to head back to Disneyland, where they were setting up for the parade. You guys it was so pretty.
walking down Main Street was like omg.
Like... I've been there at night and stuff before but every time... every single time... I like to take it all in. Like really take it in and just... enjoy it. And just really appreciate being there. Because fuck man. You don't take something like this for granted. You just don't. And if you do.... you're a douchebag.
Oh. JUST SO HAPPENS THAT SPACE MOUNTAIN WAS UP AND RUNNING AND THERE WAS NO LINE. :D
So that was a thing.
We were walking around trying to get on Matterhorn to find that there was no way to get in line? Fett looked at his watch and said it was 8PM. I had completely spaced and forgot that the park was closing then. Usually it's later, but because it's Monday and it wasn't crazy busy I get it.
So we made our way back to main street to head home. I was tired and passed out on the ride home.
I literally went from Halloween Horror Nights to Comikaze to Disneyland in a span of 5 days total without a break. Not complaining, but fuck I was tired lol. God I hope I didn't do anything stupid in my sleep. Probably drooled all over his car or something.
Anywho... that was Disney. It felt like it went by so quickly! We did have a good time though. California Adventure was a relief, frankly. Sadly the Cars ride was shut down, lol. Oh well! next time!
This weekend... I will be in Anaheim attending Blizzcon by myself :P
I can't even put into words how wrecked my brain will be once I get there to stand in line. All. by. myself. Maybe it won't be so bad. Though I am looking forward to meeting some of the WoW folk. Specifically my favorite Podcaster Totalbiscuit. fav Machinimator; Wowcrendor, and a fav gaming YouTuber Chiib.
The forums had a lot of people saying they were going alone because their friends ditched them at the last minute, so that's kinda nice in the sense that I won't be the only loner there. Phew! I can't wait!
Last happy note: I contacted the Long Beach Comic Con board and they sent me another confirmation for my ticket so THAT'S definitely happening!! Woohoo! Here's hoping I get to see a familiar face there :)

Disney is my favorite place to be. Every time you go, it's amazing. All that jazz Disney puts off about it being "magical" is really true. And I love off seasons- my favorite is September/October. Someday I'll visit Disney Land... and maybe you can come spend a day with us there! :) I'm glad you've had some good trips!!
