COMIKAZE 2013

What a weekend! I'm pooped! But the fun is just getting started!
I also just smacked my knuckle on my desk as I put my hand down! WOOOOOOOO
hurts

You guise there are soooo many photos.

If you haven't guessed already from this posts' title, I attended Comikaze 2013. *jazz hands*

It was here in good ole Los Angeles, downtown at the convention center. 3 whole days of walking around, visiting people, browsing stuff I can't buy, and mexican food with none other than Lauren at my side. I'm sure it was nicer for her this time around, since every other time she's at a con she's there for work and has to follow a schedule.

Sucked.
Okay, well maybe it didn't suck completely, but it was pretty dead when we got there which was around 11ish. I think. Or 10:30 I don't remember. At one point Lauren even became worried because the West Hall was completely empty, as was the parking lot, and asked me if we were at the correct convention center. It started to worry me too, and for a moment I second-guessed myself. Then I figured since Comikaze is smaller, it's all probably just centered in the South Hall mostly and in the show floor. We walked towards the South Hall to find a sort of filled floor, but not really. Everyone was scattered, but at least there were people.

As with every con for me, there's always someone or something I look forward to finding. This time it was D Piddy!
Friday was kind of a bust day for us though because.... well. I woke up feeling blegh. The evening before was the evening I had spent at Halloween Horror Nights. Something hit me that made me lose my voice and destroyed my throat. My only guess was sitting in the smoke emitting from the machines outside, like a tool. I sat there a couple times, and since the smoke didn't bother me, I didn't think twice about it. Who knows? Either way, Friday was just lackluster.
There weren't many cosplayers, and the show floor wasn't all that busy. I was cold, and grumpy, and just blegh. I felt bad because Lauren had to put up with my shit. We left early, but I did manage to get some pictures that day. We also said hi to Lauren's artist friend (and someone I've purchased prints from at Wondercon) David Wong who is fantastic and incredibly talented. And we also stopped by Dino Andrade's booth to say hiiiii. He's been at like.. almost every con I've been to. Lauren also knows him well. He's a voice actor that's worked with Blizzard and played the Scarecrow in the Batman games.

Oh hay dere mista Mandalorian guy :B

Yeah, we split early.
I was in a very bizarre state of mind that I haven't experienced in a really long time. This state of mind was affecting me more than I anticipated it ever would, and distracted me for much of the day. It was lame you guys. I hate being distracted.
After I dropped Lauren off  I went home, did some stuff, and took a nap to quiet my racing mind.
The previous night shook me and made me all weird. Had to sleep that shit off. LIKE A BOSS

I woke up in MUCH brighter spirits and felt a little better, but still sore and now... hacking my lungs out desperately trying to rid my chest of phlegm. Yuck!

Rotny sent me off to the Convention with something to help with the yuckies.

Once we got there, it was much much busier, and more people had come out in Cosplay.
That's one of the things I most look forward to when going to Cons.
If I had the moolah to pull that off, I'd do it also, but... my other hobbies have taken precedence long ago and at this point it's non-negotiable.

Anywho, we went to see Dino and Dave, who was with Samantha helping him out with his booth. We also were there with Geoff. Another friend of a mutual friend of a friend of a friend of a friend yadda yadda. We all know each other. :P

Lauren was able to get him an industry badge since he's an engineer at Jason's studio. I've mentioned Jason a couple times before, usually as Jursuuurrrn.

Saturday was SO much more fun!
We also ran into T there!
T. As in T from that older entry ... with the stuff... and the things... and the playing... at that club...

^ him :D

He's also a VO director. Who knows everyone ever. And he was there with his lovely lady Loki
 who was just like whoa

dat towering tho

I LOVE BEING SHORT!!!! :D

There was much more to see on Saturday. It was awesome. So so so so awesome.

 Black Butler cosplay so cuuuuuuute!

Boba Phat

Lol, I see him at every con. He's hilarious

 Dinooooo!!!
One of the sweetest guys everrrrr.
I first met him at Long Beach Comic Con I think last year.
Super sweetheart

He told Lauren he'd sign a print for me as a gift.
Totally didn't have to, but he did!!
I was so so so so happy and thankful!!

You see he plays like 4 bosses in World of Warcraft. One of which was a favorite of mine during the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. Fun fight, but also was a bitch.
He knew exactly which print I wanted, and signed it for me :)

D PIDDY!!!
lol.
Silly goose.

Elvira was there, yes.
Unfortunately I did not get to meet her. The lines were stupid, and I wouldn't even know what to say to her. I'd probably just stare at her boobs and pass out from nervousness or something. Idek.
But Edward James Olmos was there and we did get to talk to him for a little bit.
Such a sweet man. He seemed very appreciative and grateful, and everyone else that's spoken to him had nothing but wonderful things to say about him.
Sadly I didn't get a picture, but ... he's awesome. :)

 ERRK.
The night before he was with all the music boys at Das Bunker doing goth boy things.
Always fun running into him.
Silly boy. (Original Psyclon Nine member for those who don't know ^_^)

This family is so cute. I see them at every con, and also saw them at Bats Day, and like... something else. They're great

Lookit that sweet little face! lol He's also at every con ever :P

This dude was standing in the main lobby, lunging his saw at people.
It was a dead prop, but made me miss HHN so much. :(
Although a little bittersweet, it was a nice reminder of that night.

SO GOOD

Pedobear gave me a lolipop. ^_^

That guy's been waiting over a decade to bust out that pose. Good for him

Robert! I didn't know he was gonna be there. Said he came at the last minute and was only there for Saturday. Always good to see him! Such a sweetheart

He also brought a little gift me, too! It was perfect. You'll see what it is soon :)

 badass Rogue Titan :3

 THIS GUY.
 LOOK AT HIM.
YOU GUISE.
LOOK.

Replica.
Unbelievable.
He even sounded like him.
Saw him at Wondercon, too.
Almost shat my pants.

YOU GUISE.

 THIS COSPLAY
IS SERIOUS.

Couldn't help myself :3

Before we left, Lauren surprised me with a gift also!
EVERYONE GETS ME SHIT, I FEEL LIKE I LOOK POOR, AND DESPERATE, AND HUNGRY OR DRUNK OR SOMETHING THAT NEEDS HOSPITILIZED.

LIKE IF I GET ANY MORE HUMBLED I WILL IMPLODE FROM NOT KNOWING HOW TO REPAY MY GRATITUDE FOR EVERYONE'S AWESOME GENEROSITY WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU *asplodes*

I was just.
Gone.
like.
you don't even
understand
how happy I was
WHY'D SHE BUY IT?
I don't know
She just did an I
was just like
omg

why
what r u

lauren
laur-wha
iloveyousomuchwatwhyyyyyyyyyyyyy T________T

I stood close to her and kept giving her this stupid look with a dumb smirk on my face, tightly holding my hat, reminding her that I has a Kyubey hat. Which, she was already well aware of but... I wasn't and and and and and just
she's so great.

IT IS.
THE GREATEST HAT
IN THE WORLD

We also spotted a Rikki Simmons!
We hadn't seen him at all and was actually hoping to run into him.
He's pleasantly awkward.
He had a ukelele with him, and told us all about his awesome rock star side project with Richard Horvitz, who was in the booth next time.

^ He's Richard. Voiced Zim, Dagget (angry beavers), Raz in Psychonauts, Alpha 5 in Power Rangers (*gasp!*)

D'awww lookit that awkward faaaace lol :P

We left on a great note. It was a long day, but it was time to split. We were tired. But had so much fun!

See the lanyard I'm wearing? It's got storm troopers on it
It's also the gift Robert got for me! :D

Afterwards we went back to her place and watched Curse of Chucky.
It was a thing because she was telling me specifically how ... it's... not awesome but not terribad.
I asked her if she could grade it.. what.. would she grade it? She said C.
I asked C+? B-?
No. Just C.

k.

So. We watched it.

Yeah.
C.

It felt like... an apology. I was basically watching an apology for Seed of Chucky, and even though it felt like I was rushed through this apology, I still felt like there was some heartfelt genuine "I'm sorry for Seed of Chucky, gimme another chance" thing going on, so... it got a C.
Just... a C.

S U N D A Y |  03 -

Similar to Friday but with some of Saturdays' residuals.
I thought I was going to end up attending Sunday alone, because Lauren had work. She managed to to make it out for a couple hours anyway though, which was awesome! I was so glad she was there.

I have no problem looking like a defect next to her.

 soo cute!

I also bought a hoodie!
I never thought I'd find a hoodie that I'd want. Or that would fit me.
Funny story. I've never owned a legit hoodie. Like I've had cardigans and sweaters.
And this hand-me down from my mom that's this jacket like thing that's too big.
But never a real, functional hoodie.

Now I finally have one! lol
It only took 26 years to acquire. But I love it. It's perfect, and it fits great, hahaha

booooooooobbiiieess

After Lauren left I stayed and wandered around, taking pictures and helped myself to another bowl of delicious mexican food. I was getting tired and was SO over stairs.
OMG I STILL AM
I am SO over stairs.

You don't understand
At Universal Studios, there're these massive flights of stairs right
Of course there are also escalators (America) but these stairs.... go up forever. and they're split in increments of 5. IT'S AWFUL
People sometimes test themselves to see if they can finish them.
Like... it's a nasty hike.
So of course I do it.

All 3 times I'm there.
Not the entire flight. I alternated, but tried to use the stairs as much as I could. I think I only took the escalator for two flights of stairs total.
So.
After doing that.
I hate stairs.
But I still take them, because it's good exercise.
The convention center
has stairs.
And escalators. but fuck escalators.
so.
yeah.

I was sore, and ready to go home.
lol

Overall it was an awesome weekend and I was really happy to see everyone that I did. I'll never get tired of the amazing cosplay that people put so much work and dedication and love into to bring our favorite and most cherished characters to life! It's honestly what makes a Con come to life for me. (Unless it's Blizzcon)

I cannot wait until Long Beach (if I get it sorted out... can't find my confirmation email!)
and Blizzcon coming up this weekend in Anaheim!

I hope you guise liked the pictures, because I love taking them for you!

Happy November the 5th!

 And and and and and.
I went to Disneyland yesterday :X
But you'll have to wait to read about that cuz I'M HAWNGRY
