ALL THE THINGS

Picking up where we last left off, somewhere in... August....
well, it must be because I'm about to enlighten ya'lls guys bouts muh birthday.

Remember when I said my ex's strength is material and intangible gifts?
I present to you the day I turned 28 and kinda cried at the reality of getting uglier and my face getting bonier.

BUT LETS NOT RUSH ANYTHING JUST YET.

Look.

 Ghosts :D

In hindsight, I think my fascination with ghosts had a lot to do with the death of my social life, self respect, still-dying relationship, and confidence.

 Oh and gorey macaroons.

I didn't like how they came out, honestly. but... they're here somewhere.

 And more Vault Boys

The one time I joined my housemates [and his gf] for game night.
HOKAY
so.
On my birthday, my ex took us to Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament. Considering how I'd never been before, I was ecstatic. Food plus a medieval show? Together? Fuck yeah. Fuckin' awesome. Or just anything with food, period. Fuckin' awesome.

When we got there, we had some time to spare, so for an additional $2, guests could walk through the torture instruments/dungeon museum thingie, which was roughly a 15 minute thing. Which we did.

 I mean.....
but how did they clean it though

 Fun.

From there, we were led to this huge lobby area that looked like the inside of a tavern, and waited to be assigned to our knights. It was purdy dope.

 We got the Green Knight.

Was pretty excited about it, until I saw his regalia.
It had brown on it..
And, he was the first one to get eliminated.
Foreshadow? Perhaps.

Still, the show was fantastic, and the food was food.
I was satisfied.

We lingered after the show and took a look at the stuff on display as well.

 which was also dope.

I turned 28 with the grace of a living potato.
What does that even mean? I don't know. But I remember it being a good day, despite working earlier in the day if I recall correctly.

MOVING ON.
So, this was just a fun little thing that sprung up between a friend and I.
I'm really bad at things, like being descriptive and not vague, so... this is the extent of what you're going to see and read about regarding this.

 Look familiar?

no?

 maybe?

 there ya go.

 yah.
the world will never know.
They're really cute. Betcha wish ya had one ;)
but ya CAN'T! MYAH

Oh, and shortly after my birthday, another friend of mine was having her bday party at my ex's house. [mutual friend, but moreso mine than his]. And I met a younger version of Giles.

Naturally, I made him pose with a big ass book.
You will note that it is the Necronomicon; also known as a collection of Lovecraft's works.
duh

AND.
THE BIRTH OF MY OTHER HORROR COSPLAY THAT I LOVE AND HATE AT THE SAME TIME BECAUSE I'M STUBBORN AND STILL HAVEN'T LEARNED MY LESSON

One of my co-workers, whom I lovingly named Little Baer, is a fucking seamstress.

And so, I commissioned her to, out of the shanky blue fabric I got, make Julia Cotton's dress for me to debut at Long Beach Comic Con.

 And she did.
She totally did, and it was amazing.

Which leads us to... LONG BEACH COMIC CON!!

Where I totally cosplayed as Julia and regretted everything ever.
Issue number 1: i didn't learn my lesson from bandages the first time around with Bride of Frankenstein. Guess who hated life the morning of the first day trying to apply the bandages? EVERYONE.
Issue 2: I had to wear a mask/helmet kinda thing because her head is fucking wrapped up in Hellraiser 2. I was cosplaying Julia after she comes out of the mattress and is wearing the blue dress, but still in bandages. So, I basically couldn't eat, or breathe. It was uncomfortable.
Issue 3: FAKE BLOOD JELLY. FUCK THAT SHIT.

Since her eyes and mouth are the only things exposed in her bindings, I had to put that shit all around said areas. And that shit dries HARD.
GUESS WHO HATED BLINKING AND MOVING THEIR MOUTH
And to be even more of a stubborn asshole, I applied the shit to my fingers because I didn't wrap my fingers this time. It was too much of a pain in the ass, so instead of the BANDAGES fucking up my life that morning, my stupid ass put fake blood jelly all over my exposed fingers, and I basically couldn't touch ANYTHING without getting it everywhere. Because I'm smart.
This includes my phone. Selfies were out of the question, and not many people recognized my character anyway, so ... didn't find that many photos of myself as Julia which is a shame because UM HI, HELLRAISER. but whatever.

Yeah I'm never doing that again.
I'm done with bandages.

Also, this Judge cosplay is fucking awesome

 $50
sounds about right

 Alvin's so smoov
bet he gets all da ladies with his spidey twerks

ANYWHO.
AND THEN THE FOLLOWING WEEKEND I THINK
was when Son of? or just Monsterpalooza was going on.
That was kind of a weird stress-y thing too because at the last minute I decided I couldn't go. Simply because I really couldn't justify spending money on a ticket, and then potentially buying something and spending even more money. So. I was set on not going.

BUT THEN.
Homegirl Tina [at Dahlia Deranged jewelry] was like OMG NO YOU CAN TOTALLY GO, HERE GORL, I GOTCHU. And I was like O_O HOKAY TY TY TY TY ILU
So I went for a day, and it was dope.

I went by myself of course. Originally the plan was to go accompanied by the obvious, but we fought or whatever, again, and I just went alone.

 GORL HOOKED ME UP.
Ty fairy gothmother. ilu

While there I ran into my friend Steph!!
We wandered the halls of Monsterpalooza (or Son of?) Together.

I'm pretty sure this was Monsterpalooza. though, I can't remember exactly because they're both exactly. the fucking. same.

 Found Eric :D

 hessucha goofball.

 o hhi agin

one of my goals while there was to find more issues of puppet master comics.
no luck.

so with the money i saved from Tina's generous hook up, I succumbed and bought of her necklaces

fucking love that necklace. I wore it to work every day thereafter until the district manager was like....
can we not... do that. ok
and i was like
ok

and i impulse bought another bat.

and then we broke up 2 days later.

And this was me on campus on Tuesday.

Remember Jason? From the last entry?
Burrito man?
He asked me to merch for him again the following weekend.
AND I SURE DID
and I looked CUTE

I also invited Trenny to come with me because I didn't wanna go alone.
Trenny is one of my housemates.
He's super metal

 See?

merching this was perfect because I made back the money I spent at Monsterpalooza

 He helps me so much!
Symbiosis, ya'll.

AND.
Halloween Horror Nights was going on.
And if you've read any of my old entries from HHN, you'd know alllll about my favorite HHN friendsies, yeah?
If not.. well...
I am quite fond of them.
More like... 2 of them. Maybe 3. Definitely 2, though.
And so... re-visiting HHN was like... a godsend to me.

That same evening before going there with my friend Steph, Ponies invited me to join him on his last meal at a restaurant. He was challenging himself to not go out to eat for a month.
I know, first world problems, lol. But if I had that income, I'd do the same thing. Why not? lol xD

We met up at Shojin in Little Tokyo and stuffed our faces.
They lit my shit on fire. It was dope.

From there, I had to leave to go pick up Steph and haul ass to Universal Studios.

And we had SO MUCH FUN OMG

She has a friend that was working HHN too, so it was super cute seeing him approach her when he'd spot her

This time around, they wore masks that hid their faces more, so it was difficult to differentiate who was who, but Aaron made me aware of his presence, and by the end of the night I gave him a boop of gratitude on the nose :P
He's adorable, I wub him.
He gets so excited about shit, lol

Compared to my last entries of HHN, this time I was definitely lacking in photos.
Mostly because for this year, they took out a key element that I feel brought life into the attraction; which was the insult comic beneath the flamethrowers.
It was were the scare zone 1 scareactors would gather, and the public had something to watch and be entertained by, an introduction to the event if you will.
But nope, they did away with it because last year the insult comic targeted the wrong guest, who took offense to the satire and threatened legal action if something wasn't done to remedy the 'issue' according to them.
And most of my photos came from that area, so....
no scare zone one spot, not as many photos of cute scareactors =\
Still really fun nonetheless ^_^

However, the only reason at this point that I would go is for my friends. And he was telling me that he's reconsidering even bothering with it anymore. So.... /shrug. That's really the only reason I even went last year-- to see them, him mostly. but.. whatever. It's like 6 years away.

OH I MADE THIS TOO.

Because I got sick of making Vault Boys, so I had to make something else Fallout 3 related.

 AND
I went out to Helter Skelter (I think it was this?) again after months!
IT FELT SO GOOD AND EVERYONE WAS SO SWEET AND I WAS SO HAPPY
AND AND AND aaaah :D

And my coworker introduced me to this place by my house called Salsa and Beer.

 fucking ridiculously good mexican food.

Slowly my confidence came back and I started to put more effort into looking somewhat decent on a regular basis

and being able to make fun of myself is essential for my ego.
Therefore.... this shirt is so important

And I noticed myself not hating work as much.

In fact...

I found myself amused, and curious to get to know these men who visited so frequently
and answered our annoying calls when the crazies came out

I was curious because generally people dislike them.
But see... my mind is more analytical than that. I need to dissect things
So, it all started with something along the lines of "i know this is weird, but thank you for what you put up with every day" as I handed him his drink at the hand off counter.
He looked at me, startled and surprised, and smiled.
How often do you think people acknowledge them as people with lives behind the uniform? probably never. everyone thinks they're scary right from the getgo. but.
i don't.
in fact...
they can be very sweet
and thoughtful
and hugable
and hilarious

so
The rest is history.

MOVING ON

I also went to Disko Nekro

 And was so fucking ecstatic

apparently Satoki remembers me from a Sbux location I used to work at years ago.
I couldn't remember jack shit, but...

he's awkward and grouchy, so we got along.
i think.

Krieg is the greatest dance partner
in the land

And shortly after Disko Nekro, I also went to Release the Bats.

 DO ALL OF THE THINGS
of course Ponies was with me

 BOOTH ALL OF THE BOOTHS

Ponies asked me to help him booth The Hollow's Market
DUH

 These two.
so cute.

 ilu ponies

 confidence reached level 4

Man, October was a great month.
Following all that stuff, Comikaze was drawing nearer and nearer.
And abiding by my rule of no bandages, I wanted to do something comfortable, quick, and maintenance free for my next cosplay.

WHAT BETTER THAN SOMETHING FROM A CARTOON OR WHATEVER

So I did my favorite Pokemon character

Contacted Little Baer and commissioned her to make the dress. She fucking nailed it.

And in my elation of how well things were going, I made this guy!

Dead Hand from the Shadow Temple in Ocarina of Time :D

 Why him exactly?
Well look at him he's gross.
It's so cute. Why not?

Since I wasn't as focused on updating this blog, I didn't take a trillion photos like I normally do at cons. Instead, I just tried to enjoy myself and walked around trying to take everything in.
I arrived alone, but definitely didn't feel alone ^_^

 hello, lover.

He's awesome and I hope we can shoot together one day. He proposed things, and while some might be risque, I'm hoping it happens. because... SO DOPE IF IT DID
IDEGAF

One of my old coworkers! Judy ^_^

This was easily the most comfortable cosplay I've ever bothered with.
And people liked it, and recognized it, so I was happy. Only thing that I need to fix really are the boots. Latex sucks.

 And got these two shirts.
The Illithid one was the most random and luckiest find.

 it's like they're me.

 cyyyooooooooot

 This Kuzco was legit
Even his voice sounded like David Spades. Crazy

And after a long ass day on Sunday as leechwoman (I went with the understanding that I was going to meet up with my photog friend and another puppet master cosplayer, but the cosplayer flaked at the last minute so that didn't happen) I drove a few minutes away to the Monte Christo where there was a halloween fetish thingy going on. This was on Halloween weekend, and my friend Krieg was DJing. He was nice enough to put me on the guestlist.

 I left by 1 AM.
Which marked the 13 hour mark of having worn my sclera lenses.
let me tell you how shitty that was.

 it felt like shit.

AND THE FOLLOWING WEEKEND AFTER THAT
was BLIZZCON!
but I didn't go. because I didn't really feel like making the drive to Anaheim just to ghost. So, I watched the stream and wore my 2010 blizzcon tee, and attended in spirit, lol.

And later treated myself to ramen in Little Tokyo

 And other things.

worth it.
don't care.
LATER THAT NIGHT:
Trenny got us tickets to see King Diamoooonnnnddd :DDDD

dunno if you noticed but all of these photos are raw.
i didn't bother to color correct them because there were just too many.
Apologies for the shitty quality lol

 it was awesome.
even though I was too short to actually see stuff, in the beginning Trenny put me on his shoulders, lol.
we did this for a few songs before security told us to stahp.
only reason we even did was because others did it, so we said screw it.
but, it was still awesome!! ^_^

and i felt really cute that night

The next day I think was Helter Skelter.

James and I stormed the Gold's Gym next door because we're rebels.

and I felt cute that night too.

it was like... I was happy to be me and dress up and go do stuff with people and it felt awesome

For my BIO class, she said if we went to the Bodies exhibit, we'd get extra credit. So me and 2 other classmates went and wow.

 Everyone should go see it.
like right now.
It's absolutely incredible

It was SO incredible, that I abandoned my humility and better judgement and risked myself getting kicked out to take these photos in order to preserve the moment, lol. There are no photos allowed inside, but I couldn't resist.

 everything was so beautiful
and i wanted to share it with people

 PENIS

True facts.

Later on that evening, I wanted to get away for a little. Go somewhere far, and late where people wouldn't bother. So I did.

 Satoki joined me.

He suggested Redondo Beach. I had never been, and he does this shit all the time, so, we went.

It was so, so, so pretty. All you could hear were the waves, and seagulls. Everything else was quiet and serene.

To be completely frank, Satoki's awkwardness and observant nature exuded a magnetism that I could only describe as enigmatic.

he's so fucking weird, and cynical
i found it endearing and relatable.

but this was the perfect choice to visit.

 you rang?

we walked through here until almost 3 am

 you fucking weirdo
i hate you

We left super late, and on the ride back to the valley he dozed off. I wanted to drop him off, but once he awoke, he insisted we visit his favorite cafe.
so we did.

 (nah. i don't.)

I HATE YOUR MAGNETISM, YOU STUPID ENIGMA

this is how i cope with growing fond of people i feel i relate to.
putting walls up like a winner

That following weekend was Disko Nekro.

Krieg would probably let me take a photo of him naked in baby poop on a trampoline
he doesn't give a fuck and puts up with all my annoying shots lol

Mr. Enigma walked me back to my car.
probably hated every second of it

That night, I felt especially attractive.

 maybe it was his cologne

I also met up with Amanda :)
She and I used to work together, but she moved and we hadn't really had time to catch up.

We went to Octopus, and she treated me to dinner.
She also introduced me to the spicy garlic edamame and omg wuuuuuuut

Aaaannnnd I also had a commission from some friends who are huge Star Wars fans!
Sandy and Brian ^_^

TRIAL AND ERROR IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT

but they came out awesome! They love them!
Only thing is that instead of mailing these pieces off, they wanted to wait until they came here to pick them up. So, I gotta set something up w/ them to meet so they can get their babies. I can't wait to see their reaction while holding them ^_^

Here's another selfie for your viewing pleasure

 or disdain
whatever you prefer

There was one day in particular on the drive home that made me smile.
Was probably the trees, or how sunny it was outside, or maybe I saw someone that morning.
but i snapped this quick photo on my way home after work

And then I made these guys

Redead and poison mushroom

 and Shy Guy.
inspired by a shy guy.

At least now Dead Hand had a friend

The end of school was probably the greatest feeling ever.
I have mixed feelings about starting again in February. Progress, but also homework :( and less free time. oh well

Another night at Helter with Ponies

 Followed by noms at Doomie's

And then more noms with Trenny at Salsa and Beer lol

fuck this place for being so good
If I was rich enough I'd just hire their cooks and make them my own personal chefs
Oh my god...
I think that was the last of the photo dump from that time period.
YUP... IT IS.
I mean... that was since I last emptied all those photos onto my harddrive. Was about 1700 or so.
I've wracked up another 1100 since then, lol. SO.
It's a process.
but.
phew!
I've been busy.
It's been an interesting end of 2015, but over all really awesome. Thanks to friends, and Fallout 4.
And it's gotten even more interesting! but for now... I need to take a break from looking at this screen. Believe it or not this took me 5 hours to do, lol.
I know this, because twitter informed me that when I published my last entry.... it was 5 hours ago! haha
K I'M OUT
PS: I HAVE A PROBLEM AND CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO K-POP OK BYE
